It is nearly impossible to put into words the depth of our gratitude for the gift you’re considering giving us. We understand how complicated this important choice is and the fears you might be having about the future of your child. We want to reassure you that no matter what, your child will be loved. They will be protected and will be given a safe and joyful home. They will be raised to be empathic and curious, creative and respectful. All of their needs will be met, and we will give them every chance to learn and grow.

We are so excited to be parents! We can’t wait to meet our little one, to watch them grow up, to share our family traditions, and to make happy memories. We promise we will do whatever it takes to give our child an amazing life and that we will always honor the difficult decision you have made in choosing adoption. We will make sure our child knows they are loved—by all of their parents—and we will always be grateful for what you have given our family. Thank you for considering us!

About Us

Hello! We’re Jeff and Megan. We met in college and have been married for just over a decade. Jeff works from home as a software developer, and Megan is a homemaker who gets out of the house by volunteering at the local library. As a couple, our favorite things to do are play games together (video games or board games—we aren’t picky) and going on long walks exploring our city. We also like to go to local events, usually something educational or geeky. We are also both avid readers; Jeff enjoys comic books and science fiction, while Megan prefers nonfiction and fantasy. When we aren’t spending time together, Megan likes to work on various DIY projects; she sews, crochets, and paints and is trying to get into gardening. Jeff, on the other hand, you will most likely find playing video games, usually with at least two cats vying for the best spot on his lap.

Our Home & Pets

We are lucky to own our own home: a townhouse nestled in a residential area of our city. We love our neighborhood. All of our necessities (parks, the library, our excellent schools) are within walking distance, but we live on a quiet, tree-lined street. Our home is our happy place, and we’ve worked hard to make it a reflection of our personalities. It’s colorful and nerdy, with probably too many cat toys. Jeff works from home in the downstairs office, and Megan usually has at least one craft project tucked away somewhere. We spend most of our outdoor time at the local parks, but we do have a small outdoor space at home. It isn’t much, just a small patio, but Megan has big plans for a family container garden.

Our Extended Family

We both grew up in the Midwest and are both oldest siblings, but that’s about all our childhoods had in common. Jeff’s family moved to the Midwest when he was a child, so he grew up without a nearby network of extended family. Megan, meanwhile, was raised by a large family in the same small town her parents grew up in.

After we got married, we moved around a few times before finally settling in our current city on the other side of the country from our hometowns. Staying close with our families despite the distance has been hard, but over the years, we’ve figured out what works. Both of our families are very excited to see us expand our little family. Jeff’s parents will be first-time grandparents, and Megan’s parents are excited to have another grandchild to spoil.

What Led Us To Adoption

When we first got married, we both tentatively agreed we didn’t want children. It was only after several years of marriage that we realized our feelings had changed. It wasn’t so much that we felt our life together was missing something; instead, our life felt so full of love and joy, and we realized we wanted to share it. When we decided to expand our family, adoption wasn’t our first choice, but it was an easy one. After trying unsuccessfully to have children the old-fashioned way, we faced a choice: months of testing, treatments, and heartache or adoption. To us, the decision was obvious. We didn’t choose to be parents because of any nebulous ideas about legacy or passing something on but because we wanted a child to love and to share our lives with.
