We are humbled and grateful that you have taken the time to consider our family to adopt your baby. We will never understand the magnitude of the decisions you have already made and the ones you will make in the coming days, but we do understand the love you have already shown your baby. We promise to continue loving your baby and will make sure they know the love and determination it took for them to become a part of our family. Our family is blessed to embark on this journey with you and your baby.

Our family-owned business has provided financial stability for us as well as allowing Meghan the opportunity to be home to provide a loving home environment for our family. We will raise your baby to know and trust God, love and help others, and always remember they were fearfully and wonderfully made. We hope to instill our sense of adventure and share our fondness of travel and new foods with your baby.

Your child will be raised covered in love by us, our daughter (who is so excited to be a big sister), our extended families, and our friends. We are blessed with a faithful and encouraging support system that has been a mainstay on our journey through the adoption process.

About Us

We’re Meghan and Burt from North Carolina! We met 18 years ago through mutual friends, but it took 14 years to figure out we were meant to be together. We have a young daughter who is kind, courageous, and loving. We own a local auto repair business that provides a beautiful life for our family. Owning our business gives us the flexibility to enjoy things we love, like traveling, four-wheeling, and extra time with each other and our families and friends. We are both adventure seekers and kids at heart but can never pass up a relaxing weekend at home. Meghan’s longtime dream prompted the recent launch of our event planning business, where her creative eye and crafty hands help the dreams of others come to life! Burt’s impressive and imaginative mechanical skills led to him designing and building our rock-crawling buggy from the ground up.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a lovely three-bedroom, two-bath house sitting on a few acres of land. Some of our favorite spaces include our porch looking out into our big yard and our living room, where we love sitting in front of the fireplace watching a movie. We are surrounded by woods, friendly neighbors, and beautiful scenery. We live within 15 minutes of Meghan’s parents and family, and Burt’s sister lives even closer! We also own land in Kentucky, where we love camping and four-wheeling and are planning a cabin build. We’re a dog family with three awesome fur babies! Two of them go to work daily at the shop with Burt, and the other cuddlebug works from home with Meghan.

Our Family & Friends

Family, both biological and chosen, is important to both of us, and that is reflected in those who surround us. Meghan was raised in North Carolina but has lived in Louisiana and South Carolina. Meghan is an only child but grew up close to her cousins and extended family. They all live close to us, so we’re able to visit frequently and enjoy weekly dinners with her parents. Meghan’s family loves to cook, and we enjoy gathering for holidays and other get-togethers to eat and watch all of the kids play!

Burt grew up in Pennsylvania but spent time living in Florida before landing in North Carolina. He has two siblings who live in North Carolina (one right down the road and the other a few hours away), one in Pennsylvania, and one in Japan! We try to visit his family in Pennsylvania as much as possible and talk with all of them at least weekly.

We have several close friends we consider chosen family and spend many weekends traveling and four-wheeling with them. We are so blessed to have so many people in our corner who are thrilled and continually encouraging us on our adoption journey!

What Led Us To Adoption

After learning we’re unable to have biological children, we started discussing and praying about expanding our family through adoption. Adopting is a fulfilling and natural choice for us as we have both been positively impacted by adoption. We have an amazing daughter who was adopted in infancy during Burt’s previous relationship. Meghan has cousins adopted through foster care who hold a special place in her heart. Burt was adopted by his wonderful stepfather at a young age. Adoption, along with all its joys and complexities, is not new to us. We are excited to be on this journey with each other. We believe God has given us this opportunity to share our love with a precious little one.
