Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Colorado

dear expectant mother

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile and for considering us. We can’t even imagine how difficult of a decision this must be for you. Choosing adoption is a selfless and loving act, and we are so proud of you for working through your difficult choices. We just want you to know we will do everything we can to give your baby a great life with an unlimited amount of love and support.

Having a biological baby would be very risky for Melissa and potentially the baby, so we are incredibly grateful to you for considering giving us the opportunity to start a family. Your child will be so loved by our family, friends, and church family. We will support your child in any activity they want to try, whether it’s sports, music, art, or anything else. We also look forward to traveling and family vacations. We promise to give your child a loving, stable, and supportive home.

We can’t thank you enough for considering providing us this opportunity to start a family. If you choose us, we promise to respect and support you as much as we can. We are open to being as involved as you are comfortable with, and we will respect your boundaries.

We can’t thank you enough for considering providing us this opportunity to start a family.

About Us

We met in 2013 online when we were both in our senior year of college. David’s pickup line to Melissa was “So I heard you like math.” It must have worked because we got married in 2015! David is more extroverted and analytical, and Melissa is more introverted and empathetic. David works as a structural engineer and instructor, and Melissa works as a neurofeedback technician and counselor. We both love to joke with each other, go hiking in the Colorado mountains with our dogs, and explore by going on local adventures. During the weekends, we visit friends or have friends over at our place. We also volunteer at our church and attend Bible study every week. During the week, you can find us at home, often watching a comedy show, playing video games, or playing board games.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a split-level, four-bedroom, two-bathroom house. We have a nice fenced-in yard waiting to be played in and filled with toys. Our street has many families and kids who play with each other every day. The schools have some of the best ratings in all of Colorado. We think it’s the perfect spot to raise a family. We have two dogs and two cats. Our dogs’ names are Atom and Eevee, and our cats’ names are Milo and Oreo. They are all very friendly and love people. They greet everyone with lots of licks and cuddles.

Our Extended Family

Our family lives in Texas and Arizona. Melissa’s family only lives a few hours away, so they come to visit all the time. She has one younger brother, eight cousins, grandparents, and both parents. All of her family is very supportive, and most of her cousins are getting married and starting families as well. It’s exciting to have families that will grow up together.

David’s family is a little farther away, but we visit them as often as we can. David has two younger brothers, one younger sister, too many cousins to count, three grandparents, both parents, and one step-parent.

We visit our families for holidays, usually Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our families will also take summer vacations together, like when we went to Hawaii for our grandparents’ 50th anniversary. We would love to create our own traditions for our family as well.

What Led Us To Adoption

Melissa has wanted to adopt for as long as she can remember. When she found out she likely could not have biological children, it solidified that adoption was the way to go. Both our families have adopted children in the past, so we have seen how adoption can create a loving family. David’s dad was also adopted, so he has experienced it firsthand. We knew we wanted to start a family together and are excited to fulfill that desire through adoption.
