dear expectant mother

Hi there! We’re Mikey and Alex. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We can only imagine the weight of the decision you’re facing, and we want you to know how much we admire your strength, love, and courage. You are making a choice that reflects profound care for your baby, and we are truly honored to be considered as potential adoptive parents.

Our adoption journey has been shaped by love, hope, and a deep desire to grow our family. This goal has been a fundamental part of each of our lives for a long time. We’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what it means to become parents through adoption, and we are committed to creating a home that is safe, happy, and full of unconditional love.

We believe that every child deserves to be cherished for exactly who they are. If chosen, we promise to raise your baby with kindness, honesty, and respect for their story — including yours. We believe it is important for this baby to know where they came from and who their birth family is, and we will support those relationships.

We are hopeful and excited for the future. We are ready to embrace all of it, and to walk this journey with open hearts and curiosity.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again for considering us. We hold you and your baby in our thoughts, and we wish you strength and clarity as you make this incredibly personal decision.

Our Love Story

In November 2021, with encouragement from friends, Mikey agreed to go on a date with an “older man.” On November 7th, Alex strolled down to his favorite pub, where the two instantly connected over food and meaningful conversation.

Our relationship started like many others—fun date nights and quiet evenings at home. The main challenge was the distance; living two hours apart meant making the most of short visits, thank goodness for FaceTime!

Things changed when Mikey moved to WA. Living together allowed our relationship to grow stronger. We met each other’s families, adjusted to daily life together, and found joy in our shared habits and quirks.

As our bond deepened, we began talking seriously about the future. We’ve since bought a home, built a strong foundation, and are surrounded by loving, supportive families. Now, we’re excited and fully ready to take the next step—starting our family and continuing this journey together.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We have owned our home in Washington for a year now. Our house sits at the end of our street in a quiet cul-de-sac. We were drawn to this area because it is family oriented, close to amenities, and gave us more space to begin planning our family. Our home is filled with art, books, kitchen gadgets and recipe books, and music.

We have one dog; her name is Lucy. And we have one cat; his name is Marley. They have been with us for quite a time and are the cutest bonded pair you ever did see. Lucy is a huge fan of naps, treats, and running around the backyard. Marley loves to find a sunny spot in the house to stretch out and relax.

Our Family & Friends

We were both born and raised in Washington state. Our families are all nearby and play an important role in our lives. The majority of our parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. all live within an hour’s drive of our home. Our family is very tight knit, and we often spend weekends, holidays, and occasional camping trips together.

Mikey comes from a family of four. His mom worked from home while raising two boys for eighteen years. His dad is a retired Naval Officer, having served for over twenty years. Mikey’s younger brother is a Navy veteran who is currently in school studying mechanical engineering in California. Mikey comes from a strong background and loving parents who have always supported him through all his ventures.

Alex comes from a family of five. His mom has been an educator for several decades, and his father has been a tradesman with a passion for painting houses. His younger, twin brothers joined the Marines after high school, and now work in construction and military guidance.

Our families combined are quite large, which allows us the comfort of knowing we are surrounded with love and support.

Our Favorite Adventures

We love to travel—whether it’s a nearby staycation or an exciting trip abroad. Each year, we make time to explore somewhere new. Our most recent adventure took us to Nashville, where we enjoyed live music, hot chicken, and the energy of the honkytonks!

One of our favorite trips was to Victoria, B.C., in April 2023. The weather was perfect, and we spent our days exploring the city, trying new foods, and enjoying each other’s company. What made it unforgettable was Mikey’s surprise proposal. After a romantic dinner, he got down on one knee in front of the Parliament gardens and asked Alex to marry him. That moment marked the start of our next chapter—and we look forward to sharing many more adventures with our future child.
