Michael Paul & Brandon

Family Type: Gay Couple
State we live in: Arkansas

dear expectant mother

Hello,

There is no way for us to know everything you are going through, but we hope we can be a part of your journey. The fact that you have read this far, and are possibly imagining us raising your child, is a truly indescribable feeling. We have so much love to give and have been preparing for a chance to raise a child our entire lives.

You have been able to experience things we can only imagine and will give life to a child who is full of dreams and possibilities. We can’t wait to teach our children to bake Michael Paul’s secret cookie recipe or take them camping to our favorite spots while the leaves are changing colors in the fall. We want our children to experience different parts of the world to see how different cultures live and let them find the sport, art, or hobbies that make them light up inside. We want to spend every day, for the rest of our lives, making those dreams and possibilities become realities. Caring for a child and giving them every opportunity available so they can change the world is our dream.

Thank you so much for giving life to so many dreams and for bringing this light into the world. We truly look forward to meeting you and answering all the questions you might have.

Sincerely,
Brandon & Michael Paul

About Us

Growing up, we went to rival high schools. Michael Paul had friends try to get him to meet the “cute swim guy”, but we didn’t meet till we were in our 20’s. Michael Paul even put an edible gummy ring on Brandon’s finger just a few months after meeting because it’s delicious and it was clear where things were going. We are an active couple that likes to travel and is focused on giving back to our community. We spent the summer backpacking through Europe, Asia, and Africa and immersing ourselves in different cultures. Michael Paul is a neuroscientist at a medical school, and Brandon works at home as a data analyst. Michael Paul only has to be on campus for about 8 hours a week, so we spend most of our time together as a family in some way or another (meaning Michael Paul likes to sneak up on Brandon for random hugs).

Our Home & Pets

We just bought a new house that is near to Michael Paul’s work. The house has five bedrooms and a huge yard with lots of trees and a picnic table for family meals outside. We choose this neighborhood because it has an amazing school district and many other families in the area. Michael Paul can’t wait to help his children with their homework, and Brandon dreams of being the cool soccer dad who makes awesome snacks for the whole team (Michael Paul did have to explain that children prefer dino nuggets to stuffed mushrooms, but we’ll get there). We have two dogs, a maltese named Icarus and a maltipoo named Hades. We love taking the dogs on walks around the neighborhood, and to the dog park to meet new friends.

Our Extended Family

We have a very large, blended family. Michael Paul boasts eight siblings (with only two related by blood), and Brandon has four siblings (also only two blood relatives). Because of this, we believe family is whatever you decide it is.

We have a family lake house where we all meet up on weekends to eat or take the boat out and are always there on the Fourth of July to see the air show and huge fireworks displays. We change who hosts most holidays, but we always spend Christmas Eve with Michael Paul’s mother, and everyone always gets their own smoked turkey leg for Thanksgiving. We have extended family all over, from Wisconsin and Texas to Germany and Africa, and we love to visit each other as often as possible. We take family vacations every year and travel all over the world to see each other. Most recently we met in Rome for amazing gelato and pasta.

What Led Us To Adoption

We will never have biological children; we know we are meant to adopt. This is not the last resort for us; this is who we are. From the beginning, we have talked about our future children and how to prepare to be good parents for children we aren’t able to bring into this world. We are being entrusted with the single greatest treasure one could ever hope for. Our purpose is to provide the best environment possible and take care of that treasure. We are dedicated to giving our children exposure to different cultures, so they can appreciate all we have and hopefully appreciate what the world has to offer. Raising a child is the greatest accomplishment we will ever have.
