We sincerely hope the information we have provided gives you a glimpse into who we are as people and as a family. Raising a child is one of the greatest honors and joys available in this life. This is a responsibility we do not take lightly. We promise your child will never feel a shortage of love if you choose us. Your child will never have a need left unmet. He or she will be afforded countless opportunities and will be free to pursue his or her dreams. He or she will be encouraged to see this wonderful world and taught to appreciate the many cultures and people who share it with us. There will be lots of laughter and lots of joy. Your child will experience the joys of a large extended family full of love and support, and we promise he or she will forever know of your unconditional love.

About Us

We met in college over 20 years ago and married in Boston in 2008 under a Christmas tree in Boston Commons Park. Brian is a veterinary cardiologist, and Mike is a work-from-home accountant/consultant. Whether we are boating, SCUBA diving, skiing, hiking, camping, or just strolling, we enjoy being outdoors and spend a great deal of time exploring the mountains of Washington and Colorado. Experiencing new cultures and exploring new destinations are two of our greatest passions. We feel the best way to appreciate this wonderful world we all share is to get out and see it. Some of our favorite destinations include Iceland, Paris, London, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, and Montana. We are both licensed private pilots and enjoy seeing the world from above. Brian is also a Master and Rescue SCUBA diver. We welcomed our son, Caleb, in 2018, and he is on track to visit all national parks before he is 18.

Our Home & Pets

We are fortunate to call northwestern Washington home. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and with access to some of the best schools, outdoor activities, and music and art venues in the country. Our home has four bedrooms and is located in a quiet, rural neighborhood with a large, secluded, fenced yard. We also have two small dogs, a sweet Jack Russell terrier named Orville and a papillion princess named Suda. With the help of our RV, our home extends to wherever our adventures lead us.

Our Extended Family

Family is not defined by blood; it is defined by love. We are truly blessed with a large extended family made up of not only relatives but also outstanding friends and an endless supply of love. Brian is the middle of three children, and Mike is the middle of eight. With over 20 nieces and nephews and nine siblings between us, family is an important part of our lives, and we are excited to expand our family.

While we visit with family and friends throughout the year, the holidays are a special opportunity to get together. Our annual tradition of spending Christmas and New Year’s at our family cabin is a great opportunity for some quality family time in the quiet, secluded mountains of Colorado.

Our Adoption Story

Family is an integral part of our lives, and starting a family of our own was a shared dream. We knew starting a family would be difficult and ultimately decided adoption was the right path for us. We welcomed our son through adoption in 2018 with just over 40 hours’ notice before his birth. That whirlwind was the start of our most amazing, incredible adventure as a family. We went to a family of three in the blink of an eye. Watching him grow and fully embrace the adventure of life with his own full-sized personality has been an immeasurable gift. Now, as we look to expand our family, we can think of no better path for us than adoption.
