Being parents is one of the things we’ve always looked forward to. To be given this opportunity would mean everything to us. We are surrounded by great families and friends. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we definitely have the village to do so. Thank you for considering us!

About Us

Hello. We’re Misty and Martha. As opposite as we are, we couldn’t be more alike when it comes to our love of sports, work ethic, and love of traveling. Misty is outgoing, funny, and the life of the party. She’s creative and loves the outdoors and fishing. Martha is quiet at first, but once you get to know her, she is so fun to be around. When it’s football or basketball season, you can probably hear her across town yelling at the TV. Martha loves music and is often the DJ at events or get-togethers. We enjoy playing golf and hanging out with family and friends. We met at a sign company 12 years ago and soon developed an amazing friendship that led to our loving marriage. We have been together for 11 years now and are the proud owners of that company where we met so long ago.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a large town in Texas. We’ve lived in our current home for seven years now. Our city is great for family adventures, athletics, and academics, with several camps and trade schools for those looking for a career. Our neighborhood is like the ones you see on TV, where kids or families are riding around on their bikes, kids are riding scooters, and people are walking on the sidewalks. Our favorite time is Halloween, when so many come to our neighborhood to trick-or-treat. We love seeing all the costumes and giving out candy. Our city has a lot of downtown family-friendly activities, splash parks, and walking trails.

Our Extended Family

I am Misty. I am the middle of three girls. My mom married my stepdad when I was five years old, and he brought along his son. Growing up, we went hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, and snowboarding and played sports. My parents showed us how to work hard and value people and belongings. They eventually divorced when I was 18 years old. My brother and I have always stayed in touch and are very close. All of my siblings have children. I have a hard time not wanting to spoil their kids, especially on their birthdays and Christmas.

I am Martha. I am the oldest of three. My sister is the mother to my two nephews and baby niece. My parents have been married for over 37 years. We spend most holidays with my family because they live in the same town as we do. Our favorite time of the year is when we take our summer family vacation. We take my nephews to carnivals, bowling, and to the movies often.

We have many friends we call family as well. Bringing home a child would not just be a blessing to us but to our family and the friends we call family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We started our journey with reciprocal IVF; Misty was going to carry Martha’s egg. After months of doctors appointments, we decided that was no longer the journey we wanted to take to become parents. We’ve always talked about how blood does not make you a family; it goes beyond that. Misty was raised by a stepdad with a stepbrother. After doing our research, we were always drawn back to LifeLong. The chance of our dreams of being parents actually becoming a reality and giving your child a loving family with cousins to play with is something we talk about constantly.
