State I live in: Virginia

dear expectant mother

“Thank you” could never suffice. I have longed to be a parent and provide a loving home to a child, and I’m eternally grateful for being considered. I cannot fully understand what this process is like for you, but I so admire your courage and bravery. Know that if you choose me, you have my total support, emotionally and physically.

Your baby will be loved unconditionally by so many. They will be raised to be strong like you, to be confident, to appreciate their background, to love, and to always know how much they’re cherished and supported. I’m so fortunate that my family afforded me tremendous opportunities, from growing up in a neighborhood with many other children nearby to receiving an education that I rely on daily. If you choose me, I promise to provide your child the same and more.

I’m so excited to share my extended family—they’re hilarious and wonderful!—and to show your child the world. Family vacations will be epic, for sure. And my dogs! Oh man, they’ll be in love.

I would be so honored to be a part of this journey alongside you, and I cannot wait to get to know YOU and be there for you every step of the way at any level you’re comfortable with.

All my love,
Nicki

About Me

I am a sports writer for a newspaper in DC. I live in Virginia, surrounded by wonderful friends. I love my job and feel so lucky to have a career I’m passionate about, but family is everything to me and becoming a parent has always been my dream. My brother and sister are not just my siblings but my closest friends, and my parents are my first and last phone calls every day. (I’ll never tire of that!) We are mutts, and we love it! My father’s side has Indian and Turkish roots, and my mother is French. Sports are a big part of my life. I also love spending time with friends and exploring new cities. Music is dear to my heart, so there’s also something playing at home.

My Home & Pets

I live with my two goldendoodles, Joey and Louie— “my boys,” as I call them—in a two-story home with a large, fenced backyard in northern Virginia. I live in a neighborhood with many other kids and young families. An elementary school is right behind my cul-de-sac, and the area is lined with walking paths, many of which lead to playgrounds. I’m also within two miles of two large parks with sports fields and recreational areas. My closest friends live down the street, and we’ll often get together. My dogs, of course, have the most active social lives; they know all the other pups in the neighborhood.

My Extended Family

I realize I’m biased, but my immediate family is the greatest. We joke that my mom is a “universal mom.” Dogs, babies…everyone loves her. She played sports in college, had a long career as a computer programmer, and has always been my idol, rock, and best friend. I’m certain no one has longed to be a grandparent as much as this woman.

My dad is a softy. He’s an accountant and college professor who loves to cook. My love for music definitely came from him. I have so many fond memories of listening to music with him when I was young. He plays the guitar and drums and inspired me to take piano lessons growing up.

My older brother played basketball in college and now works in finance. He’s undoubtedly the kindest soul I’ve ever met. My younger sister was also a college athlete—track and cross-country—and is now an accountant. She’s one of the funniest and most talented people I know.

My family is my biggest support in every facet. We’re incredibly close, and I feel so fortunate to have them. I know they’re immensely excited to welcome a new member.

What Led Me To Adoption

I am unable to have children myself, but even if I could, adoption has been the preferred choice for me. Parenting has been what is most important to me. I can’t wait to love your child unconditionally, to make them feel unconditionally loved by me and my family, to watch them grow and develop, to help them through the difficult times, and to see their face light up during the amazing moments.
