dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Words cannot express our sense of gratitude that you are considering us to love, spoil, and raise your baby. The selfless act on your part for considering an adoption plan is the most important blessing we could ever receive in our lives, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We both believe in the most encompassing idea of family possible, and we hope to preserve a deep connection with you. We can’t imagine how hard this decision and process are for you. If you choose us, we can make you this promise: We will honor your sacrifice and make sure that your baby is showered with love from the beginning, not only by our family but our large community as well.

From our large family gatherings and celebrations to traveling the world, we want to give your baby every chance to experience the rich variety of traditions from both of our backgrounds. But no matter where they go, your love and sacrifice will always be one of the most important gifts your baby—and the two of us—will ever have.

Words cannot express our sense of gratitude that you are considering us to love, spoil, and raise your baby.

About Us

Ryan grew up in the Midwest, while Nikhil immigrated to the United States as a child and became a citizen in 2006. Before immigrating, Nikhil lived in England, Saudi Arabia, and India. We met on a dating app, and Ryan proposed a year later, surrounded by candles and flower petals, after Nikhil returned from a business trip. Nikhil works in public health and Ryan as a journalist, which has taken both of us around the world to many different countries and cultures. That shared sense of adventure and openness to learning is the foundation of our relationship and something we hope to pass on to your child. When we’re not home reading, cooking, playing board games, gardening, or cuddling with our cats, our time is often spent traveling to visit the many family and friends we’ve made around the world.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a major city in the South with so much to do: museums, theaters, festivals, and beautiful parks. In 2019 we bought a house on a quiet block in an urban neighborhood filled with a diverse range of families. We fell in love with the house the moment we saw it: room for a garden and entertaining friends and family outdoors, a huge kitchen where we can cook together, and a beautiful room overlooking the backyard for our future children. In addition to the library across the street and a park one block away, the neighborhood elementary school is within walking distance. We adopted two black cats, Maize and Nash, from our local humane society, and they love to take naps by the study windows overlooking our front yard.

Our Extended Family

Ryan’s father and extended family live in Indiana, and we visit regularly and try to take trips with his father every other year. His father is excited for his first grandchild and looks forward to more frequent trips to our home.

Growing up in an Indian home, Nikhil’s concept of family includes not just his parents and a younger brother but also relatives in India and many uncles and aunties in their community who are family friends. He is close with his parents, and we try to visit them every Sunday for lunch. When he was younger, Nikhil always wanted a sister and decided to claim several family friends as chosen siblings. Nikhil’s nieces and nephews can’t wait to have a new cousin to play with at family reunions and to exchange gifts with at Christmas.

Your baby is going to quickly see a lot of the world just while meeting their new aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our family trips have taken us from Costa Rica, Venice, and England to India, Portugal, and California. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and our large village is full of love and support for our future child

What Led Us To Adoption

Through both our extended and chosen families, we’ve watched our loved ones raise beautiful children we love and cherish as our own. We’ve both always imagined being fathers even though we grew up in a time when we didn’t think we’d have the chance to start a family of our own. We feel so blessed you are willing to consider us to raise your baby, and our parents are overjoyed at the prospect of your baby joining our family.
