About Us

We are Olivia and Daniel, and we live in Northern California. We met in October 2018 and were engaged by March of 2019. We are best friends and business partners; we own two rental properties. Daniel is hardworking, intelligent, caring, and always eager to travel or learn something new. Olivia is generous, outgoing, and artistic; she typically has one of her many crochet projects in her hands. In addition to running a business, Daniel is a lawyer and Olivia is an assistant manager at a storage facility. While we both value hard work, we also love to enjoy life! We love to travel and try new things; we’ve been to five countries together and visit at least one new state a year. We navigate life's challenges together as a seamless and supportive team, each complementing the other's strengths with unwavering love and dedication.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom house in a quiet neighborhood located on the outskirts of the city. The neighborhood is family friendly, with children of all ages living here. Our home is located within walking distance of the minor league baseball stadium and the historic district. We are also within a few miles of numerous parks, restaurants, and museums. One of our favorite parts of our home is the yard; we have a big, fenced-in front yard with a gardening box and a backyard with a shade structure that is perfect for barbecuing and outdoor dining. We also have four rescue cats, two older and two younger, who all have big personalities.

Our Extended Family

We both come from very large families! Olivia has three brothers and countless cousins. Her parents and brothers all live within five miles of our home. Her family has many traditions from her Jewish and Mexican sides. During Hanukkah, we all get together and make potato latkes and matzo ball soup (with a Mexican fusion), light the menorah, and discuss the history of the Jewish people. We all meet at Olivia’s parents’ house on Christmas Eve to make tamales.

Daniel has two brothers and three sisters. He is incredibly close to his siblings, parents, aunt, and grandmother. His family has many holiday traditions. During Halloween, his entire family goes on a hayride together, carves pumpkins, and has a bonfire potluck. During Thanksgiving, his family cooks dinner together, watches football, and has a “two-hand touch” football game in the backyard.

Both our families are ecstatic that we are on this adoption journey. They cannot wait to welcome a child into our family and pass these traditions on.

What Led Us To Adoption

We are both transgender and are unable to have biological children, and we both have always wanted to adopt a child. When we first met, we discussed adoption and knew it was a process we both felt passionate about pursuing. Both of our lives have been touched by adoption: Daniel’s youngest sister and two cousins are adopted, and Olivia’s childhood best friend is adopted. We believe in the adoption process and finding a child to love unconditionally. We are very excited and grateful to be on this journey, one step closer to completing our family.
