Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State We live in: Missouri

dear expectant mother

We believe in the power of mothers. We recognize motherhood looks different for every woman. We know a mother’s love for her children will direct her through life’s most significant decisions.

Over the last several months, we have talked about you, prayed for you, and thought often of you. Our hearts are filled with gratitude, humility, and love—more than what we have ever felt before. We cannot begin to understand completely your individual circumstances, and we have spent many sincere conversations discussing the emotions surrounding your decision. Words escape us as we desire to express our deepest thankfulness for you.

We want you to know we believe in your power. We recognize your unique journey of motherhood. We know your love for your child is directing you through your decision of adoption.

We look forward to having an unconventional family and are immensely excited to embrace any child God feels should be a part of our lives.

About Us

Parker is steady and laidback. While the world moves briskly and frantically around, Parker keeps his composure and calm and values the simplicity of kicking back. Ryan, on the other hand, is never still. If she has an extra minute in the day, she finds some new hobby, activity, volunteer position, or project to work on. These personalities create a well-balanced relationship and a very fun marriage.

Together we love rock-climbing, hiking, camping, and being outdoors. Most recently we have enjoyed traveling to new places for the sole purpose of trying new and uniquely delicious foods. At home, Parker is very proud to be the household’s head chef, while Ryan’s specialty is baking. We both speak Portuguese fluently thanks to our time as volunteer service missionaries: Ryan in Brazil, and Parker in Mozambique. Parker works from home as a software engineer, and Ryan is studying to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic and master’s in sports rehabilitation.

Our Home & Pets

Living in Missouri means we have very beautiful surroundings and residents are always participating in outdoor activities. Our neighborhood has many parks within walking distance, pools, libraries, and splash pads, all occupied frequently by families and pets. We love the city zoo, art museum, science center, and walking trails. We are involved in a strong and supportive religious community. We have dinners, game nights, and playdates many times a month with our friends and their young families. We babysit and pet-sit for each other, and many of the children in the community attend the local public schools and youth groups together. We have a loving tabby cat, Rex, who keeps Parker company while working from home.

Our Extended Family

Parker comes from a family of three children (Parker being the youngest) and eight grandchildren. His father and his brother’s family live in Pittsburg, while his mother and his sister’s family currently live in Utah. They grew up through several difficulties but, after many years, have become a tight-knit and supportive family.

Ryan comes from a boisterous family of four children. The family has always had a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, lizards, birds, and a horse. Her older brothers are twins and have autism, and they continue to live in their parents’ house. They love horseback riding, Star Wars, and Disney movies. The youngest sister of the four is currently in college studying pre-med and plans to attend med school in Missouri. Ryan is the third child but has always filled the role of eldest sibling due to her brothers’ autism.

Parker will be the last of his siblings to have children, and Ryan will be the first of hers. We are wholly expecting all five enthusiastic grandparents to make the trip to Missouri to shower their new grandchildren with lots of love.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has always been a part of our family planning process. Even while we were dating, we would discuss our future, and the picture we painted would always include children through adoption. Our decision to adopt at this point in our marriage has come after many months of thoughtful conversation, prayer, and worship. Our relationship with God is principal in our lives, and we involve Him in all of our decisions, especially in matters as important as building our family. We look forward to having an unconventional family and are immensely excited to embrace any child God feels should be a part of our lives. We already feel great love for our future children and anticipate learning from them as we all grow together.
