dear expectant mother

Dear Birth Mom,

Our relationship and family are built on a foundation of love. Since we joined our lives together, we have often talked and dreamed of building a family and sharing that love with a child of our own. We cannot begin to imagine the challenges you have faced and the love that you have for your baby that has led you to these crossroads. We know that you didn't come to this decision easily, and we wish only to express our gratitude and honor your love for your baby.

We can promise to always provide a loving, supportive, and encouraging environment where your baby can explore, grow, laugh, and learn. They will have every opportunity to discover their interests and passions and will be encouraged to try new things. We hope that you will feel comfortable engaging with your baby throughout their life, and we will commit to making space for you to know them and for them to know you and your family.

Our life together has been wonderful, and we can't wait to share our love with you and your baby!

Sincerely,
Victor and Phil

About Us

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to check out our profile! We are a couple of loving, kind, and family-oriented guys living in central Iowa. Phil is a general and bariatric surgeon by day and takes pride in a career where he gets to interact with and help a lot of different people. In his free time, he enjoys playing music, photography, and sports. Victor takes care of our three dogs as well as his 82-year-old mother who lives with us. He spends summers in his garden, growing all manner of vegetables and flowers, and he loves to roller skate. Victor will be a stay-at-home dad once a baby comes. We love to make each other laugh and be silly, and we love to take care of one another when we are hurting. We are so excited to grow our family!

Our Home & Neighborhood

Our new house in central Iowa is in a safe neighborhood and has space for a baby to play and grow. Our fully fenced backyard has room for a baby to run and play. They will have their own room to customize as they grow. There is ample space indoors for toys and games. We are a mile from a beautiful park and close to schools. The school district is well-funded and has opportunities for sports, performing arts, and more.

Our dogs love meeting new people and will love to run and play with a baby. Bowie is a big sweetheart, great for hugs. Athena is a spunky Husky with boundless energy to run and play. Ciara is a loving lapdog who still loves to play.

Our Family & Friends

Phil has three older brothers who are all excited to be uncles again. They live in Washington and Texas, and his parents live in Florida. We take frequent trips to visit family and can't wait to introduce the newest member of the family. Family gatherings are filled with music and singing as well as a lot of laughter. Whether we are watching "A Muppet Christmas Carol" on Christmas Eve or having an old-fashioned board game night, there is always plenty of love and laughter to go around.

Victor has two older brothers who live in Connecticut, and his 82-year-old mother lives with us. She is a funny, loving, and experienced grandma who will love and spoil your baby. Family gatherings are filled with salsa dancing, live music, and so much Puerto Rican food. Christmastime often includes a parranda around the neighborhood (a Puerto Rican holiday tradition) with a lot of singing and laughter. Victor's brother Ronny is an avid fisherman and loves to take the boat out on the lake. Victor's brother Eddie loves cars. Victor has many cousins, nieces, and nephews who live in Florida, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Connecticut, and they can't wait to meet our child.

What Led Us To Adoption

On a family trip early in our relationship, Phil saw Victor interacting with his nine-year-old cousin and glimpsed what a great dad he would make. After that, we started talking and found that we both had always dreamed of having a child of our own. We felt such a strong and loving connection to each other and to our families, and we decided to explore the possibility further. The more we talked, the more we felt that adoption was how we wanted to grow our family. We are excited to learn and experience the joy (and heartache) that is only known to those lucky enough to be parents.
