dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We don’t know you yet, but we already have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for you. You are considering giving a gift that is, without question, the greatest gift anyone could give. Just the idea of you considering us to raise your baby fills us up. If blessed to be chosen, we would raise your child with love at the center of everything. We know we will also learn more about love, patience, and empathy from a child.

A few hours away from our home, we have about 40 acres of land. We call it Albacore Moon Tree Farm. Right now, the land is lots of trees, hills, and a small pond. We plan on making this land a place that balances calm and adventure. That is how we want to live our life as a family: a balance of adventure and calm. We are so grateful to you for considering us as parents for your child. We are excited to have your child be a part of creating adventure and calm together—on our land, in our home, with our family, with our friends, everywhere and always…together.

Just the idea of you considering us to raise your baby fills us up. If blessed to be chosen, we would raise your child with love at the center of everything.

About Us

For us, every step of the journey is the journey. This has helped us to have perspective…to know what to take seriously and what to let go. We are each other’s favorite person to be around, and we make each other better humans. We are lucky enough to have jobs that fill us with purpose. We both work in the field of human resources. Our work gives us the opportunity to help people achieve their best, both personally and professionally. Our friends and family are very important to us. We have a supportive network of people who fill us with joy.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a three-story home in a historic neighborhood. Our street has a house that looks like an old castle. It’s so cool. Our house is around 100 years old, and our third floor is magical. It is the favorite place for our friends’ children to play. We have three cats: Esther, Jacob, and Roxy. They are all very sweet and loving in their own unique way. We have an amazing park that is a ten-minute walk from our house. That park has an incredible playground with a wonderland of fort building, digging, and safe climbing.

Our Extended Family

Our family is so excited for us to adopt. We have five nieces who are all ready to welcome a new cousin, and our parents are looking forward to having another grandchild. Our family members check in on how the adoption process is going, and they have been so supportive throughout the journey. One of our favorite traditions is Christmas morning. Laura’s mom knits, so each family member has their own hand-knit stocking. If you are there on Christmas morning, you always have your stocking filled with treats and fun little gifts. We are super excited for a new member of our family to have their own hand-knit Christmas stocking.

What Led Us To Adoption

We want the opportunity to build a family together. We love each other in a big way, and we want a way to celebrate that love and to spread the love we feel for each other to another life. Adoption gives us an opportunity to celebrate our love and provide an enriching life full of love, learning, empathy, and joy for another person.
