dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to thank you for considering us to raise your baby. While we do not know what has brought you to consider this path, we can only imagine it’s been a difficult journey. We hope the words we have expressed here and throughout our profile have provided you comfort that if you choose us, your child will grow up in a home filled with unconditional love, support, laughter, and adventure. That’s our promise to you and your child.

We promise to allow your child to be themselves. We promise to take them on memorable adventures they will want to do someday with their own kids. We promise to give them the love and support they need to be the best person they can be!

A simple thank you doesn’t come close to the gratitude we feel for such a selfless decision like you are considering. If you choose us, this would provide us with the opportunity to have the family we have dreamed of for years, and for that, we would be forever grateful.

If you choose us, this would provide us with the opportunity to have the family we have dreamed of for years, and for that, we would be forever grateful.

About Us

After six years of being together, we are ecstatic to begin the journey of creating our family. Ricky works as a project manager for a global consulting firm, while Kyler works in healthcare as a senior manager. We come from a large extended family, with Ricky’s family all within walking distance from one another. Kyler’s family lives a short car ride away. When we are not spending time with family, we like to spend time together exploring new places, making our house into a home, and still surprising each other with our love for one another. Most recently we have been spending time traveling to the beach on the weekends, where our family has a small cottage.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a family-friendly suburb, with our four nieces and nephews living just a few houses down (all ranging in age from one to four years old). We live with our beautiful border collie/blue heeler dog, Bella, and our friendly blue Russian cat, Mia; both animals love children. We live in a four-bedroom house with enough space for a child’s bedroom and separate playroom. We live on almost an acre of spacious land with plenty of room to run around and a child-safe pool in the back! Ricky’s brother a few doors down has his own massive public park-like playground in his backyard too. We cannot wait for our future child to meet their cousins so they can all play together!

Our Extended Family

Kyler comes from a smaller family, but with that comes a stronger connection. Although his family does not live in the neighborhood like Ricky’s family does, they do live within the state where we reside, and we make sure to see them at least twice a month. Kyler has one sister, and unfortunately, she was born with a genetic disorder that causes her to not be able to conceive children of her own. With that said, Kyler’s family is so excited we have decided to begin the process of adoption to grow our family.

Ricky comes from a mixed family of both American and Puerto Rican backgrounds, which just brings that much more tradition into the equation! We do Sunday dinners every week with Ricky’s family, but our favorite tradition is when we are able to do it with Kyler’s family every month when they drive up to visit. Ricky has one older brother and one younger sister, both with kids who love to get together at the local park on the weekends. Once we have grown our family, we see that being our new favorite tradition!

What Led Us To Adoption

Both of us have always dreamed of being parents, but as a gay couple, we aren’t able to have children of our own. From the first conversation we had about how we would grow our family, we knew adoption was the path we wanted to take. We have seen close friends complete the adoption process for themselves, and we were so grateful to be a part of that experience with them. Our hope is that through these words, you will feel confident and know we can provide the support, encouragement, and unconditional love you would want for your child.
