dear expectant mother

We can only imagine what this experience has been like for you, but without even knowing you, we can’t thank you enough for considering us to be your child’s future home. While we are certain there are many emotions and concerns going through your head about finding the perfect home, we hope you see we are ready to step up as parents to provide a welcoming, loving, and caring home to any child. We will never claim to be perfect, but we truly believe we have the passion and support to be great parents.
Our adoption journey may technically be just beginning, but we have been preparing and talking about adoption for many years. We wanted to make sure that we were ready to make this change, and be able to give our child the best life possible.

Growing our family is the highest priority for us right now, and we are working hard to be as prepared as possible to provide the best. If you aren’t familiar with farming/ranching families and communities such as ours, let us tell you, there is no better way to grow up. Our family and community are so excited for us to grow our family, and we know we will have no shortage of support when the time is right.

While we are excited and anxious all at the same time, we know that when the match is right, everything will come together! We hope our profile excites you about us as potential parents and you find that our home, family, and community will provide an exceptional choice that will bring you peace about choosing us as adoptive parents.

We can only imagine what this experience has been like for you, but without even knowing you, we can’t thank you enough for considering us to be your child’s future home.

About Us

We met through mutual friends in 2019, dated, then got married in 2022 with just a few of our closest friends and family by our side. We love traveling and enjoy going on new adventures. Family and community are the core of who we are, and we are so excited about building a family together. Every day looks different for us as we are very involved in our local community as 4-H leaders and also active at our local school district and FFA program. Being involved in our community and with the next generation is the best way we can give back to our community. Kip’s career as a nurse has taken him many places and offered great experience. This year Kip completed a nurse practitioner degree and works at a local family health clinic. Riley has a degree in agriculture technology and works as a communications manager and a livestock photographer. We both enjoy farming/ranching in our “free time” alongside Riley’s family.

Our Home & Pets

We are fortunate to live on the family ranch Riley grew up on in South Dakota, where we raise beef cattle and goats. So livestock are involved in everyday life! Besides the cows and goats, we have two dogs that keep careful watch over the ranch: Oakley (Australian Shepherd) and Jasper (Goldendoodle). While our closest “town” is small, we live 20 miles from the nearest city (population 15,000), which has all the necessities! Our school has an average class size of 15. We are only four hours away from the Black Hills of South Dakota, which provides endless weekend trips. We live in a peaceful, quiet part of the country, but an hour’s drive has us at an airport and near other bigger city amenities.

Our Extended Family

Family is not just important to us—it's everything to us!

We enjoy spending time with our families, whether that's gathered around the dinner table or going on camping trips in the summer. They are our world and our support system, and we couldn't be luckier to have so many great people in our lives. Fortunately, we are constantly surrounded by family! We physically live within a 10-mile radius of a vast majority of Riley’s family, including his parents, his sister and her family, his grandmother, and multiple aunts and uncles. Kip’s family is spread across South Dakota, and some are even in Missouri.

It’s rare for any community or social gathering to not include family members, but we love it that way! To say we are a close-knit family is an understatement! With two nephews and a niece living across the road, we get a lot of time with our “littles,” which has affirmed our choice to grow our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We are both very family centered and always knew we wanted to grow our family but didn’t know what route we would be able to take to make that happen. After many conversations and advice, we felt adoption would be the best fit for us. We are fortunate to know multiple families around us who have adopted and, through their experiences, have gained insight into the rewards of adoption. Being prospective first-time parents, we know there is a lot to learn, but we have made adjustments in our life to make time and room to grow our family so that this is now our highest priority. We remain excited and hopeful going through the adoption process and can’t wait to meet an expectant mother!
