dear expectant mother

Thank you for looking at our profile. We are extremely grateful you are considering us as prospective parents and are in awe of your courage to consider adoption. We know this is a tough decision for you to make, and we hope you make the decision that is best for you.

We began our adoption journey in earnest more than two years ago and feel more ready than ever to welcome a child into our family. We hope to provide a loving home for your child that helps them become the best version of themselves. We value education and can’t wait to introduce your child to a world of new adventures, including sailing, riding horses at their grandmother’s house, and taking trips to the beach with family and friends. We also hope to help your child make many friends with children their same age, and we are fortunate that many of our friends are currently in the process of adopting and that some of our relatives are also expecting children in 2022.

Thank you again for considering us as prospective parents. If you are interested, we would love the opportunity to meet you and learn more about how we can be the best adoptive parents for your child. If you would like, we would love the chance to keep in touch with you after the birth so your child will know how much they are loved by all of us. We are so excited to build our family, especially through the gift of adoption.

About Us

Ten years ago, we met by chance in an art gallery cafe and have been in love ever since. On that day, we spent hours working at separate tables until Foster finally got the courage to leave his name and number on a slip of paper (before the song "Call Me Maybe" came out), and the rest is history. Five years to the day after we first met, we were married at our local church with friends, family, and a big bubble exit. We are both fortunate to have stable jobs with flexible work schedules. When not working, we love to entertain friends and family, especially at our annual Friendsgiving feast, where we each cook a turkey to feed the crowd and have a friendly competition to see who can do it better.

Our Home

We live in a large townhouse in a beautiful, historic neighborhood, close to many parks, playgrounds, and museums. We have lived in our home for almost ten years and have enjoyed watching the neighborhood become even more family friendly. We are two blocks from a newly renovated library and have our own Little Free Library in our front yard where neighbors drop off books for kids of all ages. On the weekends, we love strolling by our neighborhood farmers market and getting out of town to enjoy the many opportunities for sailing and hiking nearby.

Our Extended Family

Family is important to us, so we are fortunate our families are so supportive and encouraging of our desire to adopt.

Foster grew up in Tennessee. His parents still live there with three horses, six cats, and two dogs (more paws than people!). They love hosting family for the holidays. We also frequently gather for family reunions in the DC area with Foster’s older brother, who lives in Virginia, and Foster’s many cousins in Maryland (who are experts at preparing a classic crab feast).

Rob grew up in Pennsylvania. He has a twin brother and a younger brother, both of whom are married with young children (and more on the way). His mom recently retired to Florida and is excited to welcome grandkids to the beach. Rob’s family also loves to gather for the holidays, especially Christmas Eve, when we all bring out our musical instruments to play Christmas carols.

What Led Us To Adoption

We always knew we wanted to build a family together. We love being uncles to our young niece and nephew and have long dreamed of being parents. We began the adoption process in earnest more than two years ago by meeting with other families in our area who have gone through the process. Foster’s good friend and roommate in college was adopted, and she has been an example for us of what a gift adoption can be for all involved.
