dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for opening your heart to consider us, and thank you for giving us the chance for our overwhelming love to be a part of your life. We can never know all that you’ve faced that has led you to this moment, but we thank you for giving us a chance. If you decide that we are the right choice for you, we will forever be grateful to you for your grace and strength in that decision.

We promise, if chosen, for every day of your child’s life, they will know how much they are loved. We promise we will be there to give to them all the love we have in our hearts. We will challenge them to grow, to learn, and to be themselves. We promise we will give them the freedom to be exactly who they were destined to be. We promise we will provide them with shelter, safety, love, and family.

Our gratitude for your willingness to consider us will never be enough. If you choose to give us the blessing of joining you on your journey, you will be with us in our hearts every day. We know this child would be the greatest gift of our lives. This opportunity to be considered is more than we could ever imagine, and we will spend every day thankful for the miracle of what you would give us.

This opportunity to be considered is more than we could ever imagine, and we will spend every day thankful for the miracle of what you would give us.

About Us

Mackenzie was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and Robyn is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. We were blessed to cross paths while both playing softball in college and even more so a year later when we added our sweet dog, Lucas, to the family. We have been a trio since! Mackenzie serves as a police officer in the role of Community Coordinator. Her position is focused on proactive policing, reaching out to local at risk youth, communities and schools to provide support, resources and mentoring. Robyn works in analytics, leveraging her passion for math, problem solving and collaboration with others; she is lucky to be working from home with Lucas! We’re happiest when we’re outdoors, especially when visiting the mountains, and we can always be found drinking coffee at a local shop on Sunday mornings.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a large community surrounded by families with children and pets! Our dog, Lucas, loves long walks, chasing squirrels, and making friends with all the local treat givers. On the weekends we love finding new squirrels to chase up trees and visiting nearby trails and parks to explore. We split our time between local parks and local coffee shops, exploring on Saturdays and recovering on Sundays. We are thankful to be surrounded by great neighborhood families, to have a fenced yard, a community playground for the children and our schools within walking distance.

Our Extended Family

Robyn was raised by two loving parents and has one older sister. She has many aunts and uncles spread across the U.S. and was lucky to have three of them living in the same town while growing up. She was also taught humor, love and strength from her three grandparents who played a role in her growth. Her family traditions have changed over the years, but you will always find Robyn and Mackenzie with Robyn’s parents, her sister and her partner at the beach for Christmas. Their favorite part is the annual matching flannel pajama picture they capture to remind them of the time together!

Mackenzie comes from a very large family with three siblings, many cousins, and very special grandparents who have shaped her. She was raised by a strong and loving mother who has shown her the power of hard work. She is also shaped by her father’s strong will, determined to achieve all that she lays out in front of her. Mackenzie’s family can be found every July 4th on the lake in Michigan, bringing them together from all sides of the United States for a long weekend spent on the pontoon, enjoying the sun and water.

What Led Us To Adoption

We’ve known for years that we wanted our family to grow as we were both raised by incredibly strong and loving families who served as role models for who we would one day become. Robyn’s grandmother experienced the journey of adoption, as she was adopted by extended family as an infant when her parents could no longer provide her a stable home. She became a resilient, loving woman full of grace and gratitude and passed on to us the miracle that adoption was for her birth parents, her adoptive parents and herself. Robyn has always had a passion in her heart to grow her family through adoption, and is so grateful to have an incredible partner in Mackenzie to go on this journey with.
