Ronz & Luke

Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: California

dear expectant mother

It is difficult to write a letter to someone you’ve never met as well as for you to gain insight into our lives. The majority of people don’t get to choose their family, but in this case, we can. We have so much love to give and only wish for the opportunity to give it. We know that during this time, you are making a decision for your child as well as for yourself, and the difficulty of that decision must be huge. While we can never fully grasp the gravity of this decision you will make, we can promise you your child will be happy and loved and will want for nothing. They will know they are adopted from the very beginning and will know what a difficult decision their mother made and how much she loves them.

They will learn from us how to love and respect others, to work hard, and to fully be themself. We are also big on education and the exploration of the arts, having both gained masters degrees as well as joined the choir and theater in high school and college. If you choose us to raise your child, they will be happy and loved and will have the world to explore. We will never take this gift for granted and will be so grateful for the gift to build on to our loving family.

We have so much love to give and only wish for the opportunity to give it. We know that during this time, you are making a decision for your child as well as for yourself, and the difficulty of that decision must be huge.

-Ronz & Luke

About Us

HI! We’re Luke and Ronz. While Luke is more whimsical and creative, composing music for a variety of media, Ronz is more stalwart and pragmatic, working as a nurse in the ICU. We have myriad interests ranging from gardening to cooking, music, film, and spending time together and with loved ones. In 2012 we adopted a beagle together while we were living in New York City. We named him Boomerang, and he has followed us all over the United States (as well as on a visit to Montreal, Canada), from New York to Las Vegas to Northern California, where we have currently settled. In our downtime, we stay active by working out in our home gym or taking Boomerang for walks in our neighborhood. Beyond that, we like to find restaurants we haven’t tried yet, and sometimes Luke can even convince Ronz to go find new, fun flavors of ice cream.

Our Home & Pets

In 2017 we purchased a home in Northern California with the intent of adopting in the future. We have a beautiful two-story home with a gorgeous, fenced-in backyard. We live in a quiet, safe community that caters to very diverse families just down the road from many Michelin-star restaurants, which we try to visit on special occasions. We have an 11-year-old beagle named Boomerang who loves when his young cousins come over for a visit or when we take him to their house for a family gathering. On nice days, he likes to go to the park down the street or just run around the backyard sniffing everything, new scents and old. For his birthday, we usually take him hiking on a trail near the house into the surrounding hills.

Our Extended Family

While Luke is not in contact with his family, he has quickly adopted Ronz’s family traditions. In our immediate family, there are three boys who all have followed in their parents’ footsteps and have become nurses in the ICU. Our brothers have spouses and two children and live close by. Much of our extended family is overseas, but we do have some aunts and uncles in the area who have proven to be a great support system over the years.

As far as traditions go, if being a nurse is a tradition, then we all have that nailed down. But as for things we like doing together, we never pass up the chance for celebration, whether that’s the holidays, a birthday, or a graduation (even from 1st grade!). Any time there is the call for celebrating, we usually choose one of the houses in the area and all get together with home-made main courses and desserts. If it’s particularly special (like when Ronz graduated from nursing school), we’ll usually find a great restaurant in the area to celebrate at.

What Led Us To Adoption

As a gay couple, the ability to create a family on our own is an impossibility, yet it is something we both have always dreamed about. The ability to include a birthmother in the process of creating a family just seemed like a beautiful way to bring a child into the world and into our family. The chance to give a child a wonderful life and know what joys would be brought into our own lives make this all the more exciting.
