Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State We live in: Louisiana

dear expectant mother

We want to start by saying we hope this letter finds you in good health and good spirits, and we thank you for considering us as prospective parents. We cannot begin to imagine what you must be going through and how hard of a decision this must be. If you do choose us, we look forward to being there and supporting you, the best we are able, throughout this process.

Your child's life with us would be one surrounded by love and support from our community of family and friends. They would be raised in a bilingual home (English/French), where we will strive to instill in them an appreciation for different cultures, languages, and traditions. We firmly believe in learning and growing through discovery and adventure, whether that is through kayaking one of the many waterways in our beautiful state, spending our summer breaks immersed in a different culture, learning how to grow a garden with Paw Paw, or something as simple as cooking and baking as a family. We cannot wait to share in these experiences with our children.

Again, thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents and helping to grow our family.

If you do choose us, we look forward to being there and supporting you, the best we are able, throughout this process.

-Ryan & Lacie

About Us

We are Lacie and Ryan. We met 14 years ago at university, and we immediately bonded over our shared love of our Cajun French language and culture. We got married four years later, and that is when our adventure officially began. We love traveling, hiking, kayaking, camping, and basically anything outdoors. We are both big music fans and love attending the many festivals here in our beautiful state, where we have been known to jitterbug and two-step to our favorite songs. We also love cooking and often test out new recipes from around the world. We are active members of our community whether it’s supporting our local farmer’s market or participating in the many events put on by our local center for the arts. We plan to raise our child bilingual in French and English, and our close-knit community of friends and family will be an important part of that.

Our Home & Pets

We live at the very end of a multicultural subdivision on the outskirts of town. Our three-bedroom house, which we share with our two dogs, Ellie and Zoey, borders on a large pond. We love watching the many beautiful sunsets from our back porch. We also enjoy watching the ducks and turtles swim around, along with the occasional batch of ducklings.

Our Extended Family

Family is a very important part of our lives. We both come from large extended families. Ryan is the oldest of three, and Lacie is the second youngest of four. Family traditions have been an important part of both of our lives, from coming together at Ryan’s grandmother's house and spending the weekend playing cards, visiting, and drinking coffee on the pier, to going to Lacie’s grandmother’s house on Easter for the big Easter egg hunt.

Our family of friends, our chosen family, also holds a special place in our hearts. Whether it is getting together for Friendsgiving to share a meal and stories or getting together to have a potluck and play games while the kids play, we strive to surround ourselves with love and laughter.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been married for ten years now, and we have decided together that we are ready to start growing our family. We have always known we wanted to adopt as it is something we began discussing very early on in our relationship. With us both being teachers, we work each day with 20+ kids, helping them to grow and develop a love of learning and exploring their passions. We are constantly in awe of how creative and thoughtful kids are, and we feel lucky to have the opportunity to share in these experiences. Now we want the opportunity to share these experiences with children of our own.
