dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for giving thought to adoption and for considering us on your journey. We can only imagine that sifting through the lives of potential families for your little one is a very emotional task. We’re so proud of you. Considering adoption is an incredibly difficult and selfless act. Our hearts are truly full of love for you and your baby.

If you chose us to parent your sweet baby, we would start our mornings peeking over the crib and cooing, “Wakey wakey eggs and bakey.” Sage’s parents used to peek in through the door and whisper this sentiment to wake up her and her brothers. It might be small and silly, but it brings a smile to our faces.

We love to travel! Neither of us grew up with a lot of money, so many of our trips as children were spent tent camping. We would love to carry on this tradition of exploring and appreciating the little things with your child. Our warm-hearted family members will be lined up to love on your sweet little baby. Again, thank you so much for considering us. If you decide to make an adoption plan, we promise to support and respect you through every step and at any level of involvement you choose.

With so much love for such a courageous momma,

Sage & Carson

About Us

Sage is originally from Colorado, and Carson is a Washington state native. Sage moved to Washington to begin her career journey, and we both met while volunteering as firefighters. We carried on a long friendship for many years before falling in love. Sage is a professional firefighter with a large metropolitan fire department, and Carson has an exciting position as an ER technician. We both come from large, loving families that love to sing, dance, and cook. We can frequently be found in the kitchen dancing to “Pineapple Skies” and using a spatula as a microphone! We also nurture our marriage through long hikes, board games by lamp-light while we camp, and time spent with our friends and family. We have two goofy mastiffs who constantly amuse us with their love and playfulness.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a very diverse neighborhood right in the sprawl of a large metropolitan city. We’re very close with many of our neighbors and enjoy BBQing together and sharing cookie platters during the holidays. We’re a short drive or walk from waterfront beaches, bobbing sailboats, and lush, green parks. We’re so excited to take your baby on long walks along the waterfront! Our home is a single-level rambler with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have a large fenced-in yard and a huge Christmas holly tree in the backyard. We have two giant and gentle mastiffs, whose favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch with us or being chased by Carson’s nieces and nephews.

Our Extended Family

Our family is as diverse as it is large! Carson’s side of the family gets together monthly for large potlucks and football games. These are large and gregarious gatherings filled with dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews. You can always expect amazing Filipino cuisine and karaoke after the game is over!

Sage is very close with her parents, three younger brothers, and extended family. We frequently fly to Colorado for Christmas (Sage’s all-time favorite time of year EVER). We’re excited to show our someday child what a true snowfall looks like and the joys of skiing and sledding. When we aren’t visiting in person, we talk on the phone with her parents several times a week.

Traditionally, we spend most birthdays and holidays with each side of the family separately because Sage’s family is in Colorado. However, both sides of the family have come together several times and truly loved each other from the beginning. Both of our families value big hugs, good food, and a good game of cards! In our own home, we plan on continuing the tradition of big family gatherings, outrageous Christmas decorations, and silly dancing.

What Led Us To Adoption

We are so confident adoption is one of the most beautiful ways we can begin our family. We both have friends and family who are adopted, and the impact these admirable and driven people have had on us has no doubt shaped our decision to adopt. We are exhilarated to become parents through adoption and to get to experience childhood again through the eyes of your child. With love and support from our families, we’re excited and humbled to embark on our adoption journey.
