dear expectant mother

As we write this letter, we are struck with awe at the choice you are contemplating. We have the utmost respect and admiration for the decision you are considering. While we can only imagine the weight of your decision, we want you to know how much we desire to parent and love a child. Thank you for taking the time to read through our profile and get to know us as you consider making an adoption plan for your child. We are ready to welcome you and your child into our lives.

We are proud of the life we have built and look forward to sharing it with a child. We are excited to have them take part in activities we love, such as traveling, building Legos, going to the beach, and sharing traditions, like matching PJs on Christmas Day, as well as building new ones.

We are looking forward to going on this journey together with you while respecting your privacy and the life ahead of you and with the child's best interest being at the center of all our hearts and minds. And while we will never be able to understand what this process is like for you, we promise to always honor this incredible, selfless act by providing the best life we can for your child.

We wish you the best and pray for you to have peace, whatever your decision may be.

With love,
Cris & Sam

About Us

We are Sam and Cris from Texas. Sam was born in Mexico and grew up traveling to England and Wales for vacations, where her dad is from. Cris was also born in Mexico and lived in different cities throughout the country until settling in Cancun, where she met Sam. We have been together since 2016 and married since 2020. Sam is a senior designer for a higher education institution who has a passion for delivering the best user experiences to students. Cris is a kindergarten and elementary cooking instructor who enjoys teaching kids how to cook and learns from them every day; she also does wedding planning on the side. We both have very flexible work schedules that accommodate for a good work-life balance and time for family and friends. We feel blessed to have such a strong relationship, have so much fun together, and are thrilled to grow our family!

Our Home

We live in a three-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, within walking distance of several parks, trails, and playgrounds. There is also a big park nearby with soccer and baseball fields, volleyball courts, and playgrounds. There are a lot of restaurants nearby with different types of cuisine. The neighborhood is quiet and calm and has a small-town feel despite being in the middle of a big city. We live in a diverse, urban neighborhood that welcomes people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and beliefs.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is very important to us. We are both the eldest sibling with a younger brother each, and we grew up with very similar values and backgrounds with lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles around. We both feel fortunate to have such loving, close, and supportive families that accept us for who we are.

Sam’s parents and brother live near us, and we get to see them often. We enjoy having them over. Sam’s brother has a three-year-old son to whom we are godmothers and a nine-month-old baby boy, and we enjoy spending time with them playing or taking them on bike rides around the nearby trails and to different playgrounds. Cris’s parents and brother live in different parts of Mexico, and we see them at least four to five times a year, either when we go visit or when they come over and spend a few days with us. Cris also has family in Illinois, and we frequently see them as well.

Most of our extended family resides in Mexico, where we both were born and raised, and we enjoy visiting them and spending time with them. Sam also has family in England and Wales.

What Led Us To Adoption

The courage and strength you have to make such important decisions for you and your child is tremendous, and we want to commend you for it. Both of us come from large, tight-knit families—Sam has 12 first cousins, and Cris has 18—so having children has never been a question. Family isn’t always blood but the people in your life who want you in theirs and accept you for who you are—the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what. We are excited about the new family we will create, not just with the child but with the child’s family as well. We are bursting with love to shower on our future child.
