Samantha & Joseph

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

Words cannot describe how excited and grateful we are to get to know you and how honored we are you would even consider us as potential parents for your child. We have waited and dreamed of our future baby and hope we can help put your mind at ease as you get to know the type of people we are and the goals we want to help your child reach.

We can promise, if you choose us, to fiercely love and support your child, to raise your child with fair rules, and to discipline and teach them to look for the silver lining no matter the situation. We will make sure they can be themselves at all times and always go after their dreams.

We look forward to taking your child on family vacations, whether that is driving to the beach, camping, or a trip to an amusement park. We can’t wait for all the fun trips we will take to the ocean, where we’ll collect seashells. Most importantly, we look forward to the simpler weekends, where we can be together as a family, watching movies, playing games, and laughing together.

Thank you again for considering giving us the chance to become parents. We are forever grateful for you and the path that has led us to you.

About Us

Joe works as an operation manager for a children's toy company. Sam works as an administrative assistant. We started dating over 12 years ago, when Sam was a high school senior and Joey had just recently graduated from high school. We have had so many fun adventures together as a party of two, from moving away to college to getting married and having fun vacation adventures, including Costa Rica and Hawaii. We have truly enjoyed building our lives together. Sam may initially come off as the social one, but you will quickly learn that Joey is the goofball between the two of us. We feel we balance each other well, and that excites us as we start our next journey as parents together.

Our Home & Pets

We are very excited since we just bought a new home that is expected to be completed in May 2021. We are looking forward to backyard BBQs and going across the street to enjoy the park in our neighborhood. We currently have a father-son duo of golden retrievers, Nike and Teddy. Both dogs love kids and were raised around our friends’ children. They will frequently try to stop to say hello to little kids when we’re out on walks.

Our Extended Family

We have a strong bond with both of our families, and our in-laws love us as their own. To say our parents are excited to be grandparents is an understatement. There is no doubt in our minds our child is going to have a strong community behind them to love and support them. We see both families regularly, and we are lucky both sides of our family come together for at least one holiday a year, if not more.

One tradition Joey’s family has is getting together a few weeks before Christmas to celebrate with his dad’s side of the family. One of the nights we are there, we will normally have someone dress up as Santa Claus for the little kids and surprise them, saying he came early since we are already celebrating Christmas; they love it.

We both have close friends we have known since middle school. One tradition we will always continue is our yearly trips to Oregon to see our “Oregon family,” which is Sam’s best friend’s family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We had our first serious discussion about adoption when we were engaged. We were thankfully both on the same page and felt strongly that adoption would be a part of the path that helps build our family. More recently, we have felt a very strong pull that adoption would be the route that will start our journey as parents. We both believe strongly that you do not have to share DNA to be a strong, tight-knit family.
