dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We believe choosing adoption for your baby takes courage and selflessness, so please know we hold deep respect and appreciation for your choice. You are not alone in this journey, and we are here to offer judgment-free support. In whatever capacity you want to be involved, we welcome that. We see adoption as a chance to not only grow our family, but to also build a relationship and cultivate trust with you.

We can promise your child will have unconditional, unwavering support and love, and will seamlessly become part of our family as well as our extended and chosen family. We will provide a balanced and nurturing environment for them to flourish. Their personality, individuality, and spirit will be celebrated. We will encourage them to explore hobbies, be creative and inquisitive, and above all else, play and have fun. They will grow up with an education, values, morals, and a strong sense of self. We take this responsibility seriously, and your child will be the center of our lives. We have fostered careers that we’re passionate about and developed ourselves as individuals, and we are now ready for this next stage.

Adoption is a lifelong commitment we cannot wait to embrace wholeheartedly. We are so grateful for the invaluable gift you are able to offer. By choosing us to raise your child, you are enriching our lives in a way no one else can. We would be honored to be chosen by you.

About Us

Hello! We’re Abigail and Savannah! We met the old-fashioned way (in person) and haven’t spent much time apart over the past 11 years, six of which we've been married. We have a very happy home full of laughter, love, and three cats. Abigail runs her own architectural design studio, and Savannah works for an advocacy nonprofit organization. We love traveling and are passionate about experiencing and learning from other cultures. Some of our favorite trips have been to Thailand, Ireland, and central Mexico. We look forward to continuing our travels with a little one and seeing the world through a new perspective. We like giving back to our community; litter sweeps and marsh cleanups are our favorites. We value an active lifestyle by playing pickleball, walking and biking everywhere…and taking lots of photos along the way. We spend many nights cooking, listening to vinyl records, and playing games.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a 1930's bungalow in a picturesque city. With its cobblestone streets and peek-a-boo gardens, there is always something new to see. We’re a short walk to the waterfront, parks, schools, museums, and restaurants - and only a few miles from several beaches. Our neighborhood is full of young families, and our street is quiet and safe. We were the general contractors for our home renovation and really enjoyed taking on that challenge. We’ve always been a great team, and even while hauling hundreds of pounds of materials around, we laughed, collaborated, and communicated the whole way through. We have three cats: Jack, Mabel, and Hendrix. They are all rescues, full of personality and extremely entertaining. They contribute to making our house a home.

Our Extended Family

We are fortunate to have a very supportive and extensive family network who enjoy each other’s company. It was tough to find photos that didn’t include a blend of in-laws! We don’t see it as Abigail’s family or Savannah’s family; we see it as our family.

Abigail has a small yet close-knit crew. Her parents live on a lake in Wisconsin, where we spend the Fourth of July each year. She has a younger brother, a sister, two nieces, and a nephew. Savannah comes from a large Irish family with seven aunts, three uncles, and dozens of cousins and second cousins. It’s a loud and playful clan! Her mom lives nearby and also has a cabin in the mountains where we spend Christmas and New Year’s every year. It is a beautiful escape to be surrounded by nature and family. Savannah has an older step-brother, step-sister, two nephews, and a niece.

Our families come together to create holiday traditions throughout the year. Thanksgiving is unique because we take a trip somewhere new, which most recently brought both sides of our extended family to Mexico. We cherish this quality time together and know it will become even more special with a child.

What Led Us To Adoption

We are beyond excited to bring a child into our family. We have worked hard to build a strong, stable, safe home together, and want nothing more than to share that with your child. Over the past two years, we explored fertility options. It was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, but the experience only solidified how much we want to be mothers. Being in a same-sex couple means we’ve had to be flexible, adaptable, and creative in how we grow our family. As we pivoted throughout the process, our goal has remained the same: to bring a child into our lives. We are extremely happy to have chosen adoption and feel very ready and grateful for this opportunity.
