dear expectant mother

We haven’t yet met, but we know we could soon share an incredible experience that will bond us through our mutual desire to offer your child the gift of life and endless love should you choose us. We can’t begin to imagine the emotions you are experiencing. However, we admire and celebrate your bravery, courage, and selflessness as you consider an adoption plan. We are grateful to you now and forever. We will wrap you in kindness, understanding, and love during this process.

If you choose us, your brave sacrifice will allow us to fulfill our dream of becoming parents. We take that responsibility and that trust you have placed in us with the utmost seriousness. We understand there are no gestures we can offer to truly thank you for this opportunity. We can only strive to offer your child unconditional love, just as you have done.

We promise to provide your child with a nurturing and supportive environment full of opportunities and experiences. We will tirelessly work to provide a foundation of love and respect so they can grow to be their best self. We will make every effort to fill their childhood with wonder and joy and will ensure that they know they are immensely loved. We cannot wait to celebrate their achievements, cheer on their goals, and help smooth the bumps in life. We are honored you have considered us to raise your child, and it would be our privilege to do so.

About Us

Schuyler is the principal of an architecture firm, and Sean works as risk manager. Schuyler is outgoing and passionate, and Sean is the reserved, creative type. Together we like to be silly and make each other laugh. We met 15 years ago in college and started an unimaginable, life-changing journey. Together we have traveled the world, kayaked beautiful waters, hiked amazing scenery, camped the great outdoors, and skied great peaks. We have lived together and apart, but our love for each other has always been our constant. We have never doubted we were made for each other! Together we have grown from kids to adults, from jobs to careers, from apartments to houses, from bachelors to husbands (we’ve been married five years), and now we’ll start our ultimate journey of becoming parents. We have worked hard over the years to build a beautiful life rooted in respect, gratitude, and love.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a lovely neighborhood surrounded by a lot of young families whom we consider close friends. We are surrounded by great schools, parks, lakes, and great walkability to all the neighborhood has to offer. Our home is our sanctuary. We have spent many weekends remodeling our 1930s house to make it a modern and comfortable oasis. The last room to finish is the future nursery. (We are full of ideas!). We are fortunate to have a large backyard in the city with plenty of room for a young imagination to run wild. It is one of our favorite spots to hang out by the firepit, watch an outdoor movie, and enjoy quality time with family, friends, and our dog, Koda.

Our Extended Family

Family has always been important to us. We are fortunate to have great families we consider not only family but friends. While we are all spread across the country, we make time to keep in touch via video chats, calls, and visits. Every year we spend Thanksgiving in Hawaii with Sean’s family. It’s become a great tradition to spend Thanksgiving in the sun, and we can’t wait to experience the wonders of the island with a little one.

We also do an annual gathering with Schuyler’s family, but the destination always changes! Aside from quality time hanging out, activities range from epic board games to exploring the great outdoors. We have a very strong support system, and both of our families are excited to share in this journey with us and add a new member to the family and our festivities. Our many great friends, whom we consider family, are equally excited and supportive, and we can’t wait to swap parenting stories with them.

What Led Us To Adoption

We always knew we wanted a family, but we wanted to ensure we were well established in our lives and able to devote our time and energy fully to a child. We are ready to share our love, passion, and excitement for life with our child. After researching the options out there, we knew adoption was the right path for us. We firmly believe family is more than genetics, and we are so excited to share our love and community with a little one. Plus, dad jokes already roll right off Schuyler’s tongue, and Sean is looking forward to having someone to laugh at the cheesiness with!
