dear expectant mother

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to tell you a little bit about ourselves and our lives. We realize that you are likely overwhelmed with an abundance of emotions at this time. However, we would like you to know we are here to support you through every step of the process at any level you’re comfortable with. There is nothing we can't handle together.

The decision of adoption is made out of unconditional love and courage that you can provide, and we will forever be grateful for the choice you are considering. We would consider it an honor for you to choose us to continue to provide this unconditional love you have shown through this process. Again, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to tell you about ourselves and how much love, support, and opportunities we could give a child if you choose us. We cannot wait to start this journey alongside you at any level you are comfortable with.

All our love,
Matt and Sheila

We would consider it an honor for you to choose us to continue to provide this unconditional love you have shown through this process.

About Us

We met online about four years ago. We discovered we had many things in common, which made our relationship easy and natural. After a couple years of dating, we decided we were ready to move forward in our relationship and married on our little ranch. As soon as we got married, we knew we wanted to have a child. This was the one thing missing from our beautiful life. Sheila has been a special education teacher for 14 years and naturally feels drawn to children. She recently graduated with her master’s degree in education to help more children who receive special services. She loves being around family and enjoys the outdoors and nature as well as decorating the house for holidays. Matt has been in the oil and gas industry for ten years and enjoys participating in rodeos, playing guitar for family, and being surrounded by family and friends.

Our Home & Pets

We both grew up in a town that grew and expanded in population quickly, which was far from the atmosphere that we wanted to live in. At the time we met, Matt was already living in a small town 30 minutes outside of where he grew up. Sheila followed him there, and this is where we reside now. It is a small town, where we live on acres of land, which allows us to enjoy the outdoors and our animals. Matt jokingly tells others that we will have a petting zoo soon. The town is just big enough to be comfortable while also allowing us the space we desired with open fields nearby.

Our Extended Family

Family plays a major role in both our lives, which is part of what connected us so quickly. Sheila’s close extended family consists of her mom and dad (married for 39 years), her sister and her husband and daughter, two close aunts, four uncles, and two grandmothers.

Matt’s extended family consists of his mom and stepdad (who have been married for ten years), two step-sisters and their husbands, four nieces, and one nephew. His dad has been married to his stepmom for 13 years, and on this side of the family, he has two step-brothers, two step-sisters, four nephews, and five nieces. He also has two biological brothers and their wives, two nephews, and one niece. He has two grandmothers as well as one grandfather.

What Led Us To Adoption

Shortly after being married, we tried a few rounds of in vitro but were unsuccessful. After we had no success, we decided we wanted to adopt. We still had a strong desire to have a family of our own and were excited about what adoption had to offer. Adoption was always a part of our discussions when we talked about having a family. Both of our mothers were adopted, so we have seen firsthand the joys adoption can bring a family. We feel confident adoption is right for us and are excited to start this journey with you.
