dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are deeply humbled that you would take the time to consider us as adoptive parents for your child. We realize you are reading several letters, trying to choose the best possible family and life for your child. But something we understand is that your most important reason for being right here is love—pure and unconditional.

We hope this small glimpse helps you to imagine your child as a part of our family. To us, nothing is more rewarding than being parents. We look forward to being parents and sharing our passions for traveling, exercising, and sports. We have so much love to share and a supportive family and numerous friends to encourage us along the way. Through our struggle with fertility, we have accepted God’s plan for us to open our hearts and home to a child the untraditional way.

Should you choose us, we look forward to learning more about you. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you all the strength and courage to make a choice that’s best for you and your child. You will always have a special place in our hearts, and we hope we are the kind of parents you want this baby to have.

We’ve desired a child for so long so we can go from a couple to a family.

About Us

Hello! We are two fun-loving and family-oriented best friends who just so happen to be husband and wife. Clenard is an accountant in the oil and gas industry, while Sheka is an elementary school principal with a passion for ensuring child success. Together, our combined love for children has grown immensely over the years. We like to travel; Sheka loves beaches and foreign lands, while Clenard is more of a stateside and sporting event goer. Clenard loves seeing stadiums and live games. Outside of work, we basically do everything together. From working out daily to hanging with friends or family, we are one.

Our Home & Pets

Our home sits in a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood that’s absolutely perfect for children. The children in our neighborhood either walk or ride their bicycles to school, and it’s an absolutely adorable sight to see every morning. Right now, our family consists of just the two of us and our pug, Chase. As for our home, we reside in a three-bedroom, two-story home that’s been screaming for a bigger family. Our neighborhood and our home are special mostly because they are both full of love.

Our Extended Family

Our families aren’t the biggest, but they’re pretty close knit. Clenard’s family includes his sister. They’ve leaned on each other their entire lives, and for the first time, he’ll be in a position where he seeks her advice. She’s the younger of the two, but she has raised two beautiful teenagers, our niece and nephew. Luckily, Clenard’s been able to play a role in their upbringing serving as the closest male figure in their lives. His parents play a daily part in his life to this day. Both of them are retired and spend most of their time driving their grandkids around the city.

Much like Clenard, Sheka’s family is very small. It consists of her parents and an adopted cousin who’s 19 years old. Her parents are pastors of a small church located deep in the heart of Texas. Her mother retired after working 30-plus years for a mental hospital, and her dad works as a chaplain for hospice. He is a servant leader at heart.

Our extended families enjoy spending time together. We take advantage of any opportunity to host family events, especially during the holidays.

What Led Us To Adoption

We’re elated to have the opportunity to adopt. We’ve desired a child for so long so we can go from a couple to a family. As most couples do, we always believed we would have children the traditional way once we got married. Unfortunately, that wasn’t God’s plan for us. We’ve accepted that traditional birth isn’t for us, but we still believe parenting is.
