dear expectant mother

As we sit down to write this letter, we are filled with emotions and excitement about becoming parents. You’re looking for a wonderful home and future for your child, and we’re looking to share our love, lives, and families with a child. Maybe we are looking for each other. We understand this is a very difficult time, and we totally understand the wide range of emotions you must be feeling. Considering us to raise your child is such a blessing and would answer so many of our prayers.

We look forward to kissing and hugging your baby and providing as much affection needed to ensure your baby feels loved. We cannot wait to take your baby to the park and museums and instill an abundance of knowledge. We look forward to joining the PTA and participating in as many extracurricular activities as desired. We look forward to teaching your child life lessons and helping them through the hard times that may come about. Shona’s clinical background in social work will be very beneficial in this area. Choosing us to raise your child means more to us than words can describe. Thank you for considering us to become the future parents of your baby. God bless you.

We have always dreamed of being parents and are hopeful adoption will help us achieve this goal.

About Us

Shona is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Maciek is a software developer. We met in college but didn’t start dating until we both graduated. We actually reconnected online. We went on our first date in May 2010. The date was at the lake, and we just sat and talked about life. Before we knew it, four hours had passed, but it seemed like only minutes. That’s when we knew there was something there. We continued to date, but in the back of our minds, there was concern about our families accepting our interracial relationship. Our love was too great to let anyone else interfere; we were prepared to move forward without them. However, our parents, family, and friends accepted us with open arms. We were married in Las Vegas in April 2013, and our relationship continues to grow as we fall deeper in love with each other every day.

Our Home & Pets

We have a large two-story home with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. We purchased this home in hopes of having children to fill up the space. There are several public and private schools in our neighborhood as well as two parks. We have a backyard and are looking forward to building a swing/slide set for your child. We have a dog we adopted from the animal shelter last year who is eager for a little playmate. Her name is Jessie, and she loves little children!

Our Extended Family

Our parents are eager to become grandparents again. Our families are so excited about the adoption process. Maciek’s mom is already preparing to teach your child her Polish language and traditions. In the Polish culture, they celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and start opening gifts when the first star appears in the sky. This works out each year because it gives us the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with both sides of the family without having to split the day.
Our brothers and sisters are excited as well; they have already started talking about planning the baby shower. Most of our friends are already parents. When we told them we were starting the adoption process, they started talking about play dates and joint family vacations. Everyone is so excited about the possibility of us becoming parents. We’ve wanted this for so long and remain humbly grateful for the opportunity to expand our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been trying to have a baby since 2013. After several rounds of failed infertility treatment, we decided adoption was our best option to grow our family. We have seen many couples succeed in expanding their families this way. We are very grateful adoption is an option for us. We have always dreamed of being parents and are hopeful adoption will help us achieve this goal. We come from large families and have so much love to give. Adoption will afford us the opportunity to share our love, knowledge, and skills with your child.
