Dear expectant mother

Thank you for looking through our profile! Please know we have profound gratitude for your consideration of us for the blessing of a child.

Our life experiences have forged a commitment to raising a child in an environment that is nurturing, warm, and loving. We know that a meaningful family life, filled with love, will build our child’s character, and helping them to become a kind and compassionate person capable of navigating the inevitable adversities of life.

We believe in the importance of family and will emphasize a prominent role for each of our families in raising our child. We will cherish holidays filled with making cookies and wrapping presents together. We look forward to ice skating in the winter and gardening in the summer. We eagerly anticipate spending birthdays and special occasions with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We know that the warmth and joy from these times lives forever, adding immense richness to life.

We believe learning and discovery are vital and that the best teachers are the experiences we share. This belief has taken us to all ends of the Earth, affording us the everlasting gift of changed perspectives, and fond memories. We so look forward to traveling, learning, and discovering the world together with our child, whose inclusion in these memories and in our lives will be an unmatched blessing.

We are so grateful for your consideration of us for such a profoundly special gift.

With respect, love, and gratitude,
Stephen & Anthony

About Us

We are physician/educators living in a large city. We value kindness, compassion, and generosity, and have dedicated our lives to these aims. We have been together for six years and immediately upon meeting, found a level of love and compatibility through similarities and complementary differences that has deepened into a profoundly harmonious kinship. Through both triumphs and trials, the other has been a steady guide, a constant support, and an unfailing friend. This firm bedrock will sustain our family in the years ahead. We are in grateful awe of the fragile forces that have brought us together and trust that those same forces will help us complete our family.

Our Home & Pets

We live in an urban region of Illinois and plan to remain there for the foreseeable future. The neighborhood where we live is a true community and feels like a vibrant, diverse small-town enveloped by the city. Our neighborhood is filled with parks and playgrounds, filled with families in the spring, piles of leaves in the fall, and snowmen in the winter. We have a large three-bedroom condo with an expansive balcony that is filled with plants overlooking a green space. We share our home with two cats, who run the home (equal parts humor and truthfulness). We also maintain a plot in the nearby community garden filled with our neighbors and their children tending to each other’s plants.

Our Extended Family

Steve’s mother and father, who are retired and still married, live in Michigan and winter in Florida. They love taking their grandchildren to the pool and to the beach to build elaborate sand-castles. Steve’s older brother also lives in Michigan and shares his life with his wife and two daughters, aged eight and eleven, who love to build giant Lego cities.

Anthony’s mother and father are also still married and live in central Nebraska. Anthony’s younger brother and sister-in-law live in eastern Nebraska with their two-year-old son, who loves zoo animals, and are expecting a new addition in June 2021. Anthony is also close with his grandfather, an avid fisherman and retired teacher who also lives in Nebraska.

We highly value our families and prioritize spending time with family whenever we can. Much of the fullness of our lives comes from memories with our families, and we cherish these dearly.

What Led Us To Adoption

There are several options available to gay couples wishing to grow their families, and we felt a deepening conviction that adoption would not only afford us the immense joy of growing our family but would also be the avenue that is most consistent with our values. On many occasions, we have seen a birth mother’s courageous decision to place a child for adoption that results in a loving and nurturing upbringing for the child. We believe the nurturing and loving family we can provide will help a child develop and grow, reaching their full potential. We are eager to begin this profoundly meaningful process and look forward to a lifetime of shared memories and growth!
