dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for giving us hope. You are so strong and selfless for considering adoption, and your courage truly is a blessing to us.

We are so excited to get to know you and be there for you through the remainder of your pregnancy and the delivery if you choose us. We really hope you gain some peace of mind in considering us for your baby. Our home will always be one of unconditional love and support so they can become whatever they want to be. If they want to be a ballerina-superhero, we will make them tutus and superhero capes for every day of the week. If they want to be a lumberjack, we will find the cutest plaid shirts and suspenders. At the end of the day, their happiness is what matters most to us.

We think our favorite family moment is going to be nighttime stories. Giggles, cuddles, kisses, and hugs all at one time?! ABSOLUTELY! We are all going to need happy dreams and a good sleep for all the fun we will have as a family going to parks, museums, and much more. We want to make lots of wonderful memories your baby can one day look back on as proof of how much of a blessing they are to us and to also see that them being adopted was the strongest act of love from you.

With all the love in the world,
Sydney & Molly

Thank you for giving us hope. You are so strong and selfless for considering adoption, and your courage truly is a blessing to us.

About Us

Our names are Molly and Sydney. We have known each other for 20 years and have a unique bond unlike any other. We fell in love while training to become firefighters and love telling people we can handle anything because “we have literally walked through fire together.” Currently, Molly is serving in the U.S. Navy, and Sydney is a homemaker and youth soccer coach. Throughout our relationship, we have been called a power couple because we are constantly supporting each other and building each other up. We openly communicate and are always on the same page for situations big and small. We love spending family time roasting marshmallows, playing games, and going to parks and beaches. We can’t wait to have family time with a child. We’re excited to play, read stories, and soak up all of the cuddles.

Our Home & Pets

We live on a military base in a very close-knit family neighborhood. We love the fact that there are playgrounds spread throughout the development. We have a nice-sized yard, but there is just something nostalgic about leaving the house to go to an actual playground or park. Our home is open and allows us to host social gatherings like movie nights and paint nights. We also have two loving dogs and a super cuddly cat. We cannot wait to see our dogs play with a baby during tummy time or our cat to cuddle up and “help” while we’re feeding the baby. But rest assured, they are all trained to stay out of the bedrooms and respect certain boundaries like not jumping or nibbling.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family isn’t just aunts and uncles. We consider many of our close friends to be family. We have an amazingly supportive family that already cannot wait to spoil another child! Being a military family is difficult because we are not as close to our family as we want to be, but we make it work. We still see family for birthdays and major holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

We love doing birthday celebrations! Traditionally, we have colorful balloons decorating the whole house and notes of birthday wishes written on mirrors and windows. Birthday celebrations are not just a couple moments out of the day, it is the day. Another celebration we enjoy is Halloween. Candy and costumes are fun, but Halloween is a time of family and remembrance for us. It is a celebration of life, family, and love to honor those who came before us. We also love Christmastime. Decorating, baking, laughing, and spending quality time together truly makes it “the most wonderful time of the year.” We celebrate Christmas Eve with the Feast of Seven Fishes and lasagna. YUM! We also do a family breakfast and dinner on Christmas Day.

What Led Us To Adoption

We had discussed adoption in the past. We wanted to have both biological children and adopted children. It was hard to find out we are unable to become pregnant after failed fertility treatments. Even though we won’t get to experience pregnancy, we’re excited to navigate our way through this new adventure. We are beyond grateful that adoption is an option and have grown to appreciate this process even more. It really is a blessing to be able to build our family. We have hit various roadblocks while striving to become parents but have come to the realization that it’s because we were always meant to be adoptive parents. No matter where our child comes from, we will love them unconditionally and forever.
