dear expectant mother

Thank you for considering adoption and taking the time to get to know us a bit. We recognize that this is likely an emotional, overwhelming, and scary time for you. Though we can never fully understand what you are going through, we are deeply grateful for your courage and insight to recognize that adoption may be the right choice for your child. Both of us have always wanted to have children, and because of you, our dream can come true. For that, we will be eternally thankful.

Though we may not know each other yet, we are excited to get to know you and your hopes and aspirations for your child. We look forward to fostering a trusting and compassionate relationship with you.

We are dedicated to creating a loving, fun, and supportive environment for your baby to grow up in. We have taken the time to ensure we are financially and emotionally prepared for a child, and we promise your child will have everything they will need to thrive. We have a deep love and respect for cultural diversity and intend to embrace and celebrate the cultural background of our child. Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us, and we look forward to getting to know you more.

About Us

Hi! We are Tom and Barry. We have been together for over six years and are completely in love. We have a very loving and fun-spirited house and believe it to be a great environment for our future child. Tom has a bright disposition and loves to be around friends and family. Barry is a creative and loving jokester who has an easygoing personality. Together, we are a great team. Barry works with children with special needs and loves seeing the kids he works with make progress and flourish. Tom works in a candy factory as an engineering manager. Outside of work, we love to entertain our friends and family. We especially love to partake in all things Marvel, play board games, go camping, and host gatherings. We can’t wait to start this exciting new chapter together.

Our Home & Pets

We own a two-story house in a big, Midwestern city. We’ve been told a few times that it’s the cutest house on the block! Our neighborhood’s location allows us to enjoy what the city has to offer while being quiet enough to feel like a suburb. We are excited to live near one of the best schools in the city. Our home became cozier when we added two pets to our family. Pepper Cat joined us in 2016. She is very social, loves to play, and is always gentle with people. Sophie Dog was adopted in December 2020. She loves to be chased and loves to cuddle. Both Pepper and Sophie are lovable goofballs who are eager to meet anyone that enters our home.

Our Extended Family

Barry’s family is small. He has one brother, who currently lives with his girlfriend in a city in Pennsylvania. Barry’s parents and grandparents are deceased. We celebrate our memories of them during Día de los Muertos. Their legacies also live on in the Lebanese and Slovak food that we still eat. Barry’s mother used to dress him up in creative, cute costumes for Halloween, and we hope to continue that tradition with our future child.

Tom is the youngest of four siblings. His sisters are both married and have two children each, so young children have always been a part of his life. We are very lucky that Tom’s brother and his husband live only five minutes away. We love getting together with them often, and they are excited to be actively involved in our child's life. Tom’s parents are retired and enjoy being grandparents. His family is very close and celebrates Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other occasions together. One tradition that has been passed down on Tom’s side is Burgoo, a fall soup festival where the family gathers and makes 15 gallons of soup from a secret family recipe. We are excited to continue these traditions with our growing family.

What Led Us To Adoption

Having a child has always been a part of Barry’s family plan. He has been working with children for almost 14 years, and he gets so much joy from helping them to develop skills to grow and thrive. Tom comes from a large family and has always wanted to share in growing his own family. We both have made many sacrifices and worked very hard to get to a place of stability and comfort, and now we want to share our love and opportunities with a little one. When looking at options for having a child, adoption made the most sense for us. There are so many children who need a home where they can prosper, and we can provide that for them.
