About Us

We’re Travis and Christopher! We first crossed paths in 2017 while working at a theater company in Virginia. Fast forward to May 2023, and we exchanged vows in the very theater where Christopher first fell in love with Broadway as a child. Our bond grew over our shared passions for the arts, teaching children, and even a mutual love for seltzer water. Travis is immersed in theater administration, while Christopher handles advertising for Broadway musicals and events. Family is central to our lives, and we're fortunate to live just ten minutes away from most of Christopher’s relatives. Outside of work, Travis practices and teaches yoga, and Christopher begins each day with meditation. We're both avid readers and enthusiastic travelers—our honeymoon in Hawaii left us dreaming of the day we can return. Together we’re building a life that blends our passions, values, and sense of adventure.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a comfortable two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in a community filled with families, pets, and young children. The location is incredibly convenient, with our work and relatives nearby. We’re also close to a charming historic district we love to visit. It’s very walkable, and we often enjoy grabbing a meal or ice cream there—Hallmark even filmed a Christmas movie in the area! Our home is made even cozier by our small cavapoo dog, Scooter, who is super friendly and loves people, especially children. Travis teaches at a local yoga studio, while Christopher connects with a meditation group. We’re also fortunate to be part of a vibrant arts community, where we frequently attend plays and musicals.

Our Extended Family

We both grew up in households surrounded by love. In Travis's family, dinner conversations were a time for deep discussions, where his parents encouraged thoughtful dialogue and independent thinking. Christopher's parents modeled generosity and dependability while providing opportunities for learning and self-expression. One of the things that brought us together when we first met was our shared value of family.

Christopher grew up with two younger brothers and devoted parents. Every summer, they vacationed in Cape Cod, creating cherished memories. Christopher was active in theater during his youth, performing in shows and always looking out to see his supportive family cheering him on. Many of his relatives live on the same block, something that always felt normal but is actually quite special!

Growing up, Travis enjoyed close relationships with his brother and cousins, who were all near in age and shared many childhood experiences. Summers were spent at his grandmother’s pool and in his parents' garage, where they would sing and rollerblade to movie musicals like Footloose. They also bonded over board games, cards, and puzzles. Travis’s family loves to celebrate holidays, and every Christmas Eve, they exchange Christmas ornaments, a beloved tradition.

What Led Us To Adoption

From our very first date, it was clear we both really wanted children. Christopher, who grew up with two younger brothers and spent a lot of time babysitting his cousins, always dreamed of having his own family. Travis had his own journey, driven by his love for nurturing and guiding young minds through performing arts education. When we met, we were both teaching theater classes to young people. Watching each other interact with these kids was amazing. We found a deep connection in our shared joy of helping students gain confidence, discover their unique talents, and start to understand who they are in the world. This shared love for working with kids naturally led us to our decision to adopt.
