dear expectant mother

We will never be able to understand the many emotions you are experiencing in considering adoption for your baby. We are grateful you have read our profile and would love a chance for us to get to know each other better. Throughout this journey, we share one common goal: to love your child unconditionally and put their wellbeing and safety at the center of all that we do, no matter what. We are committed to having open conversations, without judgment, where you can share how you are feeling and be heard.

We hope you find comfort in knowing we believe in chosen family and are equipped to learn and grow with your child as they become curious about you and being a child who is adopted. There will never be a replacement for you. As they grow up, we are excited to share stories about you and your family’s history with them and reaffirm how much love you have for them. We are open to if and when you’d like to get updates and pictures and keeping an open dialogue to discuss how you feel about a future in-person visit.

Thank you for considering us for this life-changing opportunity to realize our dreams of raising a child.

With love,
Eric & Tyler

We will never be able to understand the many emotions you are experiencing in considering adoption for your baby.

About Us

Hi! We’re Eric and Tyler. We met by chance in 2017 on a dating app when Eric was visiting family in Minnesota. We became smitten through text messages that turned into phone calls. Neither of us had met someone who was so kind, authentic, and had a great sense of humor. We shared so much in common, from a love of camping and travelling to spending time with family and friends playing board games. We value open communication and prioritizing quality time over things. Our relationship grew to moving to California together and getting married in 2021. Eight years later, we still light up with butterflies when we see each other smile. Tyler is a consultant, and Eric is a product manager. Tyler’s hobbies include leading an LGBTQ+ outdoors group, reading, and pickleball. Eric enjoys the beach, playing piano, and coaching adults with food and alcohol addiction.

Our Home & Pets

Our three-bedroom home is in a quiet family neighborhood in Southern California, down the street from our local highly ranked elementary school. We enjoy gardening and relaxing in our large, fenced backyard and running around with our two small rescue dogs. When not outside exploring, they can be found cuddled on someone’s lap. We love walking and biking to the large recreational lake a few blocks away, which has miles of trails, a playground, and various sport courts. The mild coastal climate where we live allows us to hike and camp locally year round and drive only twenty minutes to our favorite beaches.

Our Extended Family

Quality time with family is the greatest gift of all. Our chosen family consists of our blended extended families and close friends. Eric has two brothers and two sisters, with three nieces and a nephew. Eric’s dad and stepmom host an annual fourth of July gathering in which everyone stays at their house, with games during the day and fireworks at night. Tyler has two brothers and a sister, also with three nieces and a nephew. His parents have a pool that is the center of many family BBQs, where we gather and enjoy his dad’s culinary skills.

Christmas is a special tradition that starts at Tyler’s brother’s house for Christmas Eve dinner with family and friends. On Christmas morning, we gather at Tyler’s parent’s house for breakfast and a gift exchange, followed by lunch and games with Eric’s family.
Our families have been our biggest supporters as a gay couple and are just as excited about our adoption journey as we are. Your child will be loved and welcomed by everyone in our life. The racial diversity of our blended family includes Haitian, Guyanese, Native American, and Caucasian.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been wanting to have children since we met and have discussed both adoption and surrogacy in detail this past year. Adoption excites us more because it aligns with our belief in chosen family and alternative family structures, supporting a child with the same unconditional love we have for each other and our blended extended families. We want to give someone’s child a safe and nurturing life full of opportunities that they may not have otherwise had. Tyler has coached youth football, and his zeal to parent has been unwavering since we met. Eric’s kindness and compassionate approach to the world compliments Tyler’s, bringing two different parenting styles together for your child to understand the world in dynamic ways.
