About Us

Our friends and family agree we are opposites, but despite our differences, we've stuck together since our first date in Iowa in 2014. Four years later, a quiet Ph.D. graduate in plant genetics married an outgoing and athletic tennis professional. Soon after, a job opportunity led us to California. Race became a flower breeder for a seed company, and Tylor was able to continue teaching tennis. Our new life includes staying active through beach walks and bike rides or socializing with meetups and cards with friends.

Our Home

We are fortunate to live in a charming duplex house nestled in a quiet and friendly neighborhood in southern California. We are just a block away from a scenic bike path that stretches along the beach. Our town is a surfer beach community known for its coastline, where locals and visitors both enjoy the waves, sandy shores, and year-round pleasant weather. The community is welcoming and inclusive, with various local attractions, shops, and restaurants that showcase the area’s laid-back yet lively spirit. Living here truly offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, community warmth, and a relaxed beach lifestyle that we are excited to share with a child.

Our Extended Family

We come from loving, hardworking, and caring families, having both grown up on family farms in the Midwest. Race has a younger sister and brother, while Tylor has a younger sister and two nephews we adore. Our families enjoy spending quality time with us and making memories.

Race’s family finds joy in celebrating holidays together and spending time on the farm. The farm is not only a livelihood but also a favorite place for Race’s extended, close-knit family to connect. Exploring museums in the cities and attending local festivals are also things they love to do. Time with his sister’s two children brings Tylor's family immense happiness. Family gatherings often involve loud and lively card games, laughter, and heartfelt conversations. Tylor’s extensive extended family, filled with aunts, uncles, and cousins, is a vast network of love and support, with some cousins even being his closest friends.

Overall, both of our families prioritize love, connection, and the value of shared life experiences. We are eager to welcome a child into this warm and caring extended family, where they will be surrounded by love and support.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our dream has always been to grow our family. We are genuinely thrilled by the prospect of adopting and embracing the role of parents. We are fortunate to have close family and friends who have gone through the adoption process and have seen firsthand the incredible bond that can be formed. Their experiences have inspired and shown us the immense joy and fulfillment that come with welcoming a child into a home. Knowing we have the love and encouragement of our loved ones makes us eager to embark on this journey and provide a home for a child who will be the love and focus point of our daily lives.
