dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Selecting a family for your child to grow up in must be a difficult and challenging experience. We want to express our sincerest gratitude for your selflessness and courage in considering adoption. We are excited to expand our family through adoption and to provide our future child with an abundance of love and joy.

Your child will be welcomed into a large, supportive family full of culture, love, and laughter. As an Eagle Scout, Christopher will teach your child about nature, service to others, mindfulness, and morality. Curtis is excited to teach them the joys of reading and finding the bright side in life.

Together, our most important goal is ensuring that your child knows that they are worthy of love. Throughout our lives, we have both experienced discrimination because of who we are, and have known what it feels like to be made to feel unworthy of love at times. Because of this, we know how important it is to make people feel loved and validated for who they are. We want to help your child be the most authentic version of themselves possible while knowing that they are loved and cherished for doing so.

Throughout the process, it is imperative that you feel comfortable, supported, and respected. We want your child to have you in their life to whatever degree you desire. We will ensure that your child knows the love that you have for them. Without you, our dream could not become a reality, and we will forever be grateful for this experience and the bravery you have shown.

With love and respect,
Curtis and Chris

About Us

Hello! Our names are Willard (goes by Curtis) and Christopher. We both grew up in Michigan and met in 2020. We started our relationship as friends, hanging out and talking on a daily basis. Over time, our friendship became so much more. Toward the end of 2020, we officially started dating and were inseparable. We bought our first house together in March 2021. In October 2023, surrounded by our friends and family, we got married. Curtis is a branch manager for a bank here in Michigan, providing financial solutions to customers. Christopher works in workforce development as an assistant manager, offering solutions to businesses and the workforce. Together, we co-parent Curtis's twelve-year-old son from a previous relationship. Being parents to Ezekiel has taught us patience and how to love on a level we never knew before. As a family, we enjoy camping, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Our family resides in Michigan in a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home. We have plenty of yard space for fun outdoor activities. We often have friends and family visit for holidays and play outdoor games like bean bag toss. We are only a few miles from various community parks, zoo’s, and other local attractions that are family friendly. Some different school options are close to our home as well. We also have 2 cats, both from the same litter, their names are Mika and Molly aging at 7 years old. Both are very friendly and cuddly with adults and children.

Our Family & Friends

On Chris's side of the family, he has one sister and a nephew. He has a large extended family, including nine aunts/uncles, 18 cousins, and 25 second cousins. In Chris's youth, he spent various holidays and summer vacations with his cousins. Playing White Elephant during Christmas is always a tradition and is such a great activity that all family members participate in. He has always been close to all sides of his family and enjoyed spending time with them when he was younger.

On Curtis's side of the family, he has two brothers and three sisters, one nephew, and two nieces. Curtis also has a large extended family, made up of 12 aunts/uncles, 26 cousins, and 12 second cousins. Curtis's favorite memory was camping every summer with his extended family, fishing, hiking, swimming, and spending quality time together.

We spend large amounts of time with our parents, siblings, and nephews. We see our families very frequently to celebrate birthdays, holidays, or on just random days when we want to see everyone. Our goal for our children is to be close to their extended family like we were as kids so they can form lifelong relationships with family members.

What Led Us To Adoption

Entering our relationship, Curtis always knew he wanted to have another child. Chris did not have children on his radar at that time. After Chris met Ezekiel and started taking on a parenting role, he realized how much he loved being a father figure. Over the years, Chris began to open his mind more to the idea of having another child. We started talking about what our options were and decided that adoption was the right route to follow. Throughout the process, we have envisioned many aspects of our lives changing in a positive way. Imagining the life events we will experience with a new child makes us incredibly excited. Spending the rest of our lives being parents to multiple children is the only future we can imagine now.
