We are so grateful adoption gives us the opportunity to raise a family together, which we believe is the most important decision of our lives. We can’t imagine how many emotions you are going through at this time, and we want you to know how much this decision truly means to us for the blessing of being able to love, cherish, and raise your child.
We are beyond excited to show your child unconditional love, endless opportunities, and joyful moments. We are excited to read to them and to teach them their colors and numbers and how to ride a bike. We will take them to foreign countries and teach them other languages and about different cultures. We look forward to spoiling them on their birthdays and during Christmas while teaching them how to be grateful and respectful of others.
We know this decision is difficult, and we want you to be at peace that we are always going to put the needs of your child first. As we begin this journey together, we want you to feel comfortable with who we are as a couple and as individuals. We know this is only the beginning of our relationship with you and your child. Our names are Joel and William, and we have a three-year-old daughter named Vivian. We met in 2011 and have been married since 2016. We both love our jobs that we have been doing for more than a decade. William works in food safety/quality assurance for a coffee company, where he helps ensure that the food and beverages are served safely. Joel is a medical professional and university professor. He enjoys working with his students and serving his patients. We both love traveling, trying new things, and watching the latest shows on Netflix. In 2020 our entire lives changed when we adopted our first child, Vivian. She was a Christmas miracle, and we like to say she has a sweet and spicy personality! As a family, we love spending time in our pool, visiting with family and friends, and taking Vivian to our local amusement park.
Our home is in a small Michigan town only a short distance from larger communities and several lakes. We have a medium-sized yard with lots of trees, a pool, and a hot tub. A couple blocks from our house, we have bike trails, parks, and all the local public schools, which are some of the best in the state. We are very excited to show our children all the activities Michigan and the Midwest have to offer. We have one pet cat named Nash, who is like a Maine coon! He loves people and especially kids. Some people describe him as a cat with a dog-like personality. He is excited to welcome home another big brother or sister, just like Vivian!
We are both family-oriented people. William’s family lives in Tennessee, and Joel’s family lives nearby in Michigan. We have several nieces and nephews on both sides and lots of little cousins for Vivian and her future little brother or sister to play with. Many of our vacations involve us traveling to Tennessee to spend time with William’s family and to have family gatherings. William’s family loves to celebrate birthdays and tends to have big celebrations at least every other month.
Our favorite time of year is Thanksgiving, which we host in our home and welcome both of our families from Michigan and Tennessee. Our families love going on vacations together every year, which is important to us. We spend many weekends every year with Joel’s sister’s family and his parents on the lake or traveling around Michigan. Both of our families are so excited for us to welcome another child into our home. They look forward to celebrating our family traditions with your child and can’t wait to share their endless love with them!
Since the very beginning of our relationship, starting a family has always been a desire we have shared. Through adoption, we desire to enrich the lives of others and show them that “family” can mean many different things. We look forward to raising children who will be kind, compassionate, and ambitious and who will treat others well. We believe adoption gives couples like us the chance to make this dream come true!
