Zach & Caleb

Family Type: Gay
State we live in: Tennessee

dear expectant mother

We want to thank you for your courage and tell you how excited we are to be considered for the opportunity to love on a child and raise a strong, independent, loving person. Our life experiences have been preparing us for anything that lies ahead. Our journeys as individuals and as a couple are built on a foundation of hard work, inward reflection, self-care, and, perhaps most importantly, the support of others.

When we look back upon all the missteps we thought we had taken, we realize those steps were actually crucial to helping us arrive at a place and time in which we were ready for one another and, now, a child. We understand the gift every day brings and the opportunity every human offers. We are humbled by the thought that we could pour our hearts, love, and wisdom into the baby we hope to raise. Our family, friends, and colleagues share in the enthusiasm of our wish to adopt.

We promise with every fiber we have that we will love, support, guide, challenge, and one day release a wonderful human being. We are already envisioning new experiences, and we are overwhelmed with love for the child we have yet to meet.

We are humbled by the thought that we could pour our hearts, love, and wisdom into the baby we hope to raise.

-Zach & Caleb

About Us

We met in 2017, when Caleb’s closest friend decided she had met the one for him. She wasn’t wrong; our first time meeting was a moment neither of us will ever forget. We share a love of fitness and nutrition, and we have built a circle of deeply committed friendships in those spaces. We thrive as a couple when we are adventuring outdoors, trying new foods, celebrating our friends, and participating in the occasional CrossFit competition. Our professional work as an attorney and an architect keeps us engaged and involved with our passions. Most importantly, we guard each other's solitude, downtime, and self-care routines. We come from vastly different backgrounds and experiences and yet we feel we complement each other so perfectly. The Latin side brings color, passion, and intensity, and the Southern side brings pageantry, gentility, and tradition. Together we fashioned a life rich in many adventures and experiences, save one. We are ready to be parents, that is the hope our marriage is built upon.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a suburban neighborhood near incredible parks, waterways, and greenways. Our home has plenty of room for our rescue pets, hobbies, family, friends, and of course a new baby. Our neighborhood is diverse, and filled with kind neighbors with interesting stories, backgrounds and experiences. Our friends care about our interests, and have custom built for us a dog house for a crew of canines. And in fact, when we were looking at homes, we did so deliberately with an eye toward which room would be our future child’s room. We are intentionally minutes from friends, work, and entertainment areas. We already envision walks down the street with a stroller and dogs in tow, greeting neighbors and connecting with other parents.

Our Extended Family

Family is and always has been extremely important to us. Both of our families are so excited to walk this journey with us. We can’t say they’re more excited than us about it, but they’re sure competing to try!

Zach grew up in Alabama, where he still maintains ties with his childhood best friend. His parents now live in Kentucky, and he visits them regularly. Holidays are an especially meaningful time for Zach’s family as they have many traditions they observe.

Caleb was raised in Miami. Although it is a little more of a trek than Kentucky or Alabama, we still intentionally carve out time to visit Caleb’s family in Miami a few times a year. Caleb’s family is Latino, so the family get-togethers are loud, fun, and full of good food!

What Led Us To Adoption

We have both wanted children since early adulthood, to unfold into another being and be a father, friend, spiritual guide, and mentor to a child. To actively choose to love another is so special and meaningful to us. We sense there is no greater love than the love we choose to give. We hope you will give us that opportunity.
