A note from our Assistant Executive Director, Mark Doyle:

Wonderful news! On Thursday, March 31, 2016, a federal judge struck down the same-sex adoption ban in Mississippi.

This is truly a day that I never thought I would see from such a conservative state. Each day we are moving through roadblocks that have hindered many couples from adopting.

Personally growing up in the South I know how much this truly means to the LGBT community of Mississippi. As this state makes history we still face challenges in other states that seem to being backwards at the moment such as North Carolina with passing such harsh discrimination laws.

This was for sure a great way to start our day in the office at LifeLong learning such powerful news!
